Some updates take a little longer than others, just be patient.

We're definitely still working on DisplayFusion, just been busy with a few of our other products as well. We're hoping to have 6.0 Beta 3 out soon :)

So far with Windows 8.1 Update 1 we've come across two issues:
  • The "Send Metro App to Desktop" Function is broken
  • The system tray overflow on the DisplayFusion taskbars doesn't open

If you've noticed any other issues since Win 8.1 Update 1, please let us know and we'll add them to our list :)

Thanks!

well theres wallpapers... I got 5 monitor wall setup and sometimes 1-2 monitors get color wallpaper instead of online image sometimes... using interfacelift and vladstudio

for example I have windows to open in current monitor and when for example try to clear trash... the confirmation popup is on top... not on the monitor where trash is...

Could you do the following to help troubleshoot further? Please do a separate log for each issue.
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: All Lines) and click Apply
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
  • Attach the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file to this topic (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending me the log

Thanks!

Thanks! Do you have a Window Location rule for explorer.exe?

Also, did this log contain the recycle bin message issue only, or does it also have the blank wallpaper on change as well?

only recycle bin... I have window location rule for all.... for any window to go to the monitor where the mouse is... but the problem is that recycle bin is in monitor 3 at the bottom monitor with the mouse and everytime its popup window goes in monitor 1 on top... mouse remains in monitor 3 and popup goes to monitor 1 ALWAYS

the wallpaper issue seams kinda hard to catch happens 3-4 times/day at random... my guess I think its download timeout... no idea why since I have 1gbps internet

attached full exported config

also attached the wallpaper file... weird because it seams to happen to the same monitors... and I tried changing the online wallpaper provider...

Thanks! If you disable the "Move child windows..." option on the Settings > Window Management tab, does that resolve the Recycle Bin issue?

yes it does.....
it behaves how it suppose to it stays in the monitor at the bottom and if I move the mouse really fast to different monitor it goes there... :)

guess it might be a problem with that "move child" setting :)

edit: on the wallpaper issue... if I go into desktop wallpaper option in display fusion I can see the missing wallpaper... if I hit ok it appears on the blank wallpaper monitor...

Yep, definitely a conflict there. If I create the Window Location rule AND enable the Child Window Moving stuff, I get the same behaviour as your machine with the Recycle Bin dialog. I've added this to our list, and we'll let you know as soon as it's all fixed up :)

For the wallpaper thing, I'll test it out here to see if I can reproduce the same results. Could you send me a copy of the info from the Settings > Troubleshooting tab, so that I can make sure I setup my test system the same as yours?

Also, if you could leave debug logging enabled, and attach a new log immediately after you have one of the wallpaper issues, that would be great.

Thanks!

Thanks! There are some interesting lines in the debug log, so hopefully that will help us track down the issue. We'll let you know as soon as we have more news :)

updated ...
the "move child windows to the same monitor as the parent window" is still bugged... recycle bin clean popup still goes to the top monitor... attached in the log...

wallpapers now seam to be bugged completely... I hit "Load next image" and nothing happens no tray notification saying its downloading nothing... after a while new wallpapers seem to be downloading they show in the display fusion desktop wallpaper dialog window, but the wallpapers on the desktop don't change at all...

The recycle bin thing is still open on our list :)

For the wallpaper issue, have you tried restarting your machine (or kill explorer.exe and start it again) since installing Beta 5?

Thanks!

its not a 24/7 machine... so it has been shutdown/restarted many times...

Ok, thanks! The issue now is definitely related to some of the changes we made for Beta 5, so we're going to have another look at it, and hopefully have it fixed up for Beta 6 :)
