Just installed the 2004 update and along with it, the new Nvidia drivers to enable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. Noticed my central taskbar wasn't auto-hiding again, and upon checking task manager, ofc nvsmartmaxapp.exe (and nvsmartmaxapp64.exe) are running again. Opening DF doesn't show any prompt to disable. On 9.7 now.

Good grief! Would you be able to send me the path to those files on your machine? I wonder if it's changed again.

They were in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_ccad5caddc3a3d35

Does it look for them via a hard coded path? No way to find the directory directly from looking at the exe's that are running?

I'm not sure exactly how we're searching for the files, but I will pass this over to our developers and we'll see what we can find out again.

Thanks!

Ok, could you send us a debug log from 9.7 for this?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Restart DF and wait a couple of minutes
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!
