I just bought this software on steam for $30 because I thought it would fix my multi monitor problems. Let's face it, windows support for multimonitor sucks, and the graphics card companies like to claim their card can handle 4,6, or even 8 monitors and when you buy the $700 gpu they are mysteriously no where to be found after you figure out they didn't try to fix multi monitor support either.
I have had both AMD and Nvidia and I have used triple monitor 1080p with 2 6970s, and with 1 nvidia 970, and both have shitty support. I came to understand a long time ago I would never have 1 mode that would work in gaming at 5760x1080 and triple monitor mode to get work done and I am fine with that. Software like Photoshop and solidworks simply refuses to work in surround mode. The problem arises now that I switched to Nvidia and the fact that they have no way to easily switch between surround mode and triple monitor mode. Each time I switch it takes a few minutes and a lot of clicks and I have to do this many times a day. Back with ATI they had a keyboard shortcut you press 1 button and it switched. So I started looking this issue up online and everyone said get displayfusion it fixes all problems.
So now I have displayfusion and my desktop has never been more buggy then it is now. Windows, nvidia, and displayfusion all fight for what monitor a program opens up on. Many times it opens on one monitor and then 3 seconds later it pops over to another monitor. Furthermore programs have a very hard time going fullscreen as displayfusion cancels out windows native aero drag and it's own version doesn't always work and stops programs from going into 1/2 monitor view. Now I sure would like it if all these features worked but there is only one thing I need to work and that is; where is my one button switching between nvidia surround and triple monitor modes!?
Every time I go into surround mode displayfusion will not let me switch to my 3 monitor setup, and every time I am in 3 monitor it will not let me switch to the saved surround configuration.
Why won't it let me do this?!?!?!?!?! This is the one feature I need. I specifically bought this software because people on the nvidia forum said it could do this.
First off, thank you for your purchase!
Have you tried enabling the "Auto-split..." option in the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration window when you're on your Surround configuration? That should split the monitors into 3 without actually disabling Surround.
DisplayFusion can't currently toggle Surround on and off, but what you can do is create a Monitor Profile for your non-Surround setup. That way, after you toggle Surroud off via the NVIDIA Control Panel (or set a hotkey in the NVIDIA Control Panel to use for toggling it), you can then load the non-Surround Monitor Profile in DisplayFusion to quickly setup your monitors again.

Thanks for getting back to me. I heard that this used to be able to toggle surround on and off in the past. Is there any way maybe in the future you guys could add support for this? That would really make multiple monitors easy...
or even if there was a mode to make certain software think it could only run in one monitor. Solidworks, the whole adobe master collection, and many other programs always open in full 5760x1080 in surround mode even when displayfusion and nvidia are both set to divide it into 3 monitors. If this was fixed I would have no need to switch surround modes.
Do you know where toggles are in the nvidia menu because I do not see them?

Okay I just set my nvidia keyboard shortcuts and they absolutely do nothing at all. Default is ctrl-alt-s and even with the enabled and me pressing it, it does nothing.

2019 and Nvidia, AMD, and Microsoft still have not seemed to have fixed anything. I am waiting for a solution.
