When I enable Nvidia Surround to play games using a full 5760x1080 resolution, my display drivers (v306.23; Win7/x64) override the multi-monitor taskbars (where each monitor has its own Start button, icons, and system tray) until I disable the Surround feature. Nvidia's drivers will allow me to see the taskbar on either the center screen, or as one large, spanned taskbar across all three screens, but DisplayFusion cannot function correctly until it's turned off. Is there some way of getting around this? I recently purchased DF for the multi-monitor taskbars, but don't see why I should have to mess with all of my system settings so much to make it work properly. Thanks in advance for any help.

Making the multi-monitor features in DisplayFusion work correctly with Nvidia Surround/AMD EyeFinity is a pretty big task, and unfortunately we just haven't been able to make it work yet. It is something we're hoping to be able to add in the future though, so if we're able to, I'll be sure to post an update.

If that was the only reason you purchased though, we can certainly refund your purchase. Just let us know if you'd like us to issue a refund.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

I have been running a spanned resolution (5760x1080) since my first 5970, and now on my 680. I will gladly drop $35 on a multi-system license right now, for the ability to have multiple start menu's, or quick access to my program's from context menu etc, over a spanned display.

Let me know if DF (beta?) can already do this, or if there are Pro features I'm overlooking?

edit: Also, do this for me and I will campaign to greenlight the shit out of you guys on Steam.

@Shaze: It's not currently available, but we'll definitely post an update if/when we're able to implement it.

Thanks!

Just wanted to post and say I'm also hugely in favor of Display Fusion being able to address our multi-monitor gaming machines. I have tried other multi-monitor display software in the past, as well as waiting for Windows, nVidia, AMD, or any other third party to fully realize a totally capable multi-monitor setup as it should be!

Display Fusion, your software is incredible, and it has most of the features I can imagine to make a truly integrated and well thought out working / gaming machine with all the capabilities I'm looking for. Please keep working towards those last few challenges of realizing Display Fusion with full "Surround Monitor" plus additional monitor support!! Hard to say whether nVidia's drivers or a third party's drivers (such as Display Fusion or someone else) will get there first, but rest assured, as soon as someone cracks this nut, they'll have my $$ for support!

Great work so far! Keep working on that Surround support!

I use Nvidia Surround and it would be great if I could put wall paper on each monitor or Tile the wall paper with different images.

I would just like to add my request for this. I have recently bought a third monitor, and it would be great if DF could add the additional taskbars and provide ways to move application windows between the monitors.

Fortunately setting the monitor wallpaper works pretty good even in the current version.

We've just released DisplayFusion 5.1 Beta 17, and it now includes support for splitting Nvidia Surround/AMD Eyefinity setups so that each monitor can have separate taskbars, wallpaper, etc.

After updating to the beta, you can configure the splits using the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration window.

If you get a chance to try it out, please let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Thank you! I just now got my third monitor and I love the surround feature for my 660ti, but I don't like that I can't have separate taskbars/apps going to different screens. Going to do the trial and if I like it, will def be buying it.

The only thing you need to fix is it for to be able to incorporate bezel correction. It works properly without Bezel correction, however once bezel correction is incorporated you miss the clock on screen on and 2 (shows on 3), miss the start menu on screen 2 and 3 (center / right).

Is there a way to fix this?

@Jay64: This is currently on our list, but we don't have an ETA at the moment. We'll be sure to post an update when we do!

Ok! DisplayFusion 7.0 Beta 6 is available, and we've added support for asymmetrical splits, and bezel corrected resolutions. In the Monitor Configuration window, hit the "Splits and Padding" button, and you'll get the window with all the configuration options for the splits. Here are some basic steps for bezel corrected resolutions to get you started:
  • Assuming you have three monitors, use the "Preset Splits" button to select the 3x1 option.
  • Click the "Show Preview" button.
  • Select each split, and set the "Width" and "Height" values to the actual resolution of your monitor (not the bezel corrected resolution).
  • Select the middle split, and using the "Left" box in the Location group, increase the value until you see the white line on the left side of the middle monitor.
  • Select the right split, and using the "Left" box in the Location group, increase the value until you see the white line on the left side of the middle monitor.
  • Verify that all three monitors have a white line on all four sides, then click OK, and OK again.

When you've had a chance to test it out, please let us know how it goes! We're looking for any feedback on functionality, as well as usability :)

Thanks!

I used different method for my virtual 6000x1080 resolution (5760x1080 with 2x120 bezels)

  • Select preset Split of 3 x 1 to get three monitors of 2000x1080
  • Set the middle monitor to 1920x1080 (physical) resolution
  • Set the LEFT monitor to 2040x1080 (1920 + 120, the bezel width of two monitors)
  • Set LEFT monitor padding on the right of 120 pixels
  • Move MIDDLE up by 40 pixels so it starts at 2040
  • Set the RIGHT monitor to 2040x1080 and move it to start position 3960
  • Set RIGHT monitor padding on the left of 120 pixels

It works great, in Windows the taskbars and maximized windows are properly confined to the physical monitors, but the background image stretches and games assume my desktop resolution is 6000x1080 so I don't need to manually change each time :-)

Hey just want to chime on this, seeing all the recent activity, to say that Keith and all of the developers that acted on this request are awesome people. You guys are showing a great interaction here with your community, that at least from me, has generated another sale.

Thank you for being awesome people, working on a very cool project, and working on this this request for us. If I could buy you a beer, I would, but I don't know where you guys are so I'll just continue to recommend you.

I am still unable to get the start menu to display on a single monitor, no matter what start button I click it still displays across all three and from the left hand monitor.

I have setup my monitor splits and tried a bunch of other tips from the forums with no luck.

I would love some help.

Cheers

@Liam: Are you running Windows 8? If so, could you try enabling the "Use mini start screen" option on the DisplayFusion Settings > Windows 8 tab?
