This was the main reasoning for me purchasing it.

I had it before and when I split it I remember it used to show 1, 1.2, 1.3 etc etc on the actual Monitor Configuration now it doesnt and in actual use it only works sometimes.

Sometimes the screen numbering will show and showtimes it wont. Its just sporadic. I hate the way its behaving now.

Yes I have that box check "show monitor selector while dragging" in windows managment.

Also F11 wont fullscreen to just the predefined window either it will span the entire monitor, used to work fine. ex. notepad++ used to f11 into a split screen just fine now it doesnt.

anyway to correct this?

The monitor numbering shows if the window was maximized before you started dragging it. Could you try this to see if it works for you?

  • Maximize the window to a monitor or split.
  • Try dragging it over another split, it should hopefully show the split overaly.

Another thing that's helpful with splits is the "Move Window to Different Monitor" function. You can assign a key combination to it on the Settings > Functions tab, or add it as a TitleBar Button by selecting it and clicking the "Toggle TitleBar Button" button.

Regarding full screen windows to splits, as far as I know that has never worked, as full screen windows don't behave quite the same as regular maximized windows. Do you know which version of DisplayFusion (or Notepad++) that used to work in?

Yes it works if the windows is maximied then I drag it, but didnt it used to work always showing the numbering? im just being nitpicky I guess I can get used to it this way but I liked it a whole lot better the other way.

I dont know what version of DisplayFusion it was cause its a new fresh install, I tried looking at old version to just go back one by one through it to find the one i had that worked for me but the last old version is from like 2016 and I barely found this program like 2 months ago. Notepad++ is the same version, I disable all updates etc on everything in windows cause I just dont want things I have running to break and have to waste time trying to fix it again.

All in all I can get used to it

Ok, the maximized dragging is the way that it's always worked. As for the full screen to splits thing, we haven't released an update to DisplayFusion since December 2017, so there can't have been any changes there either.

We do hope to be able to constrain full screen windows to splits in the future, but at the moment it doesn't seem to be possible.

Okay thanks, and i figured out why I thought notepad++ did it, they have this option called "Post It" (F12) that basically emulates full-screen but constrains it inside that window.
