With Outlook 2007 and DisplayFusion 3.4.1 running on Win7, I am not able to see my Outlook Reminders when they pop up. I hear the sound I have Outlook set up to play with the reminder, but I only get a flashing icon in the taskbar.

Is there a setting I can change to make the Reminder pop up on top of all other windows so it visible as soon as it opens?

Unfortunately there's no way for DisplayFusion to force the reminder window to the top. Does this issue still occur if DisplayFusion is closed?

Thanks for the quick response!

I closed DisplayFusion to test this, and the problem goes away with DF closed.

I did a search before posting my question and saw a post from around 2008 or 2009 that sounded like the same issue. A response there said it would be fixed with the next release. Do you know if this is a planned future improvement?

I've got a similar issue when trying to maximize or open windows ( from the taskbar or the systemtray ). Most of the time Google Chrome is my active window on my right screen; let's say I want to open Windows Live Mail, so I click on my taskbar shortcut, it is opened but not as the foreground window.

This also happens to other applications. Both problems may be somehow related with each other.

I see the same thing. Most frequent that pops to mind is when 'printing' to pdf. The Save As window doesn't pop to the front. I have to go the Task Bar to open it on top to name and save the file.

Luckily, I've found another bug that is related to this:

I've opened Windows Live Mail to check my eMails but was still reading some news on the internet, so I didn't click on the icon in the taskbar which was still flashing. After a while the flashing on the native Windows 7 taskbar stopped but the icons on the DF taskbar still continues to flash.

Ok good to know guys. We're making a lot of taskbar changes at the moment, so when the next beta is available, I'll get you to try it out just to make sure these issues are still there before we go too far into troubleshooting them :)

Note, the taskbar buttons blinking forever is normal for now, we haven't implemented a way to have them stop blinking yet :)

Don't stop them from blinking! At least that let's me know I've missed a pop-up! That's my two cents anyway... :)

They will still stay highlighted, they just won't blink incessantly :)

Hi guys, 3.5 Beta 10 is now available, could you give it a try and let me know how it goes?

Thanks!

Awesome!

The first few tests looked promising :) I'm gonna continue testing the next few days and let you know if it's finally working :)
Thanks so far Keith and Jon <3

Keith, the only thing I've noticed so far is that the window for Save As is still hiding behind whatever is in focus. It's flashing in the taskbar on the screen the window is hiding on - I think that's new, but I'm not sure.

Is there a setting I should change? I looked around right after loading the beta, but didn't see anything obvious to me.

Thanks!

Thanks Pat! Which application are you printing to PDF from?

The two things I primarily print PDFs from are QuickBooks 2012 and Outlook 2007.

Hi Keith,
I hate reporting this kind of thing because it's so...unidentifiable? Anyway, my machine runs all the time. Overnight, the monitor goes to screensaver and then they go to sleep. During the night, automatic backups are done both locally to an external drive and online to a separate site. And Outlook is always receiving stuff.

This morning when I got to my desk, the monitors were asleep as usual. Except there were 'blocks' of wallpaper showing through here and there. Normally, I just jiggle the mouse or hit space bar to wake everything up. That didn't work this morning. I was able to roll the mouse down to the taskbar and click an icon. As I opened programs, the screen started waking up. All is fine now.

It wasn't a really big deal, but since this is beta, I thought I'd let you know about it. Let me know if I can give you any more info.

Interesting! If it happens again tonight, could you try exiting DisplayFusion before leaving the computer tomorrow night to see if the problem goes away?

Thanks!

Will do.

@Pat: I was able to reproduce the issue with the PDF995 Save As dialog, but it also happens without DisplayFusion running. If I click Print in Outlook and don't click anywhere else while it's working, the Save As dialog comes up correctly. If I click Print in Outlook, and then click on some other window, or the desktop while it's working, then when the Save As dialog opens, it's behind the other windows.

Could you test the same steps and confirm?

Thanks!

Keith, the Save As box stayed hidden when printing from QuickBooks and from Outlook with Display Fusion on and off. Maybe it's new to me with Win7. I haven't had it very long.

Also, the weird monitor behavior didn't repeat this morning, so nothing to report there.

Thanks, Pat

No problem Pat, if the weird monitor behaviour comes back, just start a new topic and we'll look into it further :)

Thanks!

Ok. The weird monitor behavior has repeated the last two mornings. I'm going to close Display Fusion tonight and see what tomorrow brings. If it doesn't repeat and after I do a little more testing, if it seems to be DF, I'll start a new thread.
Thanks.
