Hi all,

I recently purchased DF since I was very happy with the product during my trial
I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 (10.0.19041.264) update, and I noticed that pinned shortcuts (i.e. URLs) to the taskbar disappear once they are closed.
If I revisit the menu for them, the list is empty.

I've tried the latest stable build and the latest beta, and the same issue occurs.
I've now reverted back to 9.6.1.

I saw some previous threads for this issue but they were from back in 2018, example:

https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/pinned-chrome-shortcuts-add-to-desktop-disappearing-from-displayfusion-taskbar/?ID=d8f3657c-fe7a-4534-b448-eaa26c863925

Is there any fix/workaround for this issue?

Overall I'm happy with the product, but this is a bit of a pain for me as I have 3 monitors running and everything was perfect, until (ironically) I bought the full version (coincidence of cours!).

Thanks in advance!

How many shortcuts do you have? And do they all disappear at once, or only after opening them and then closing them again? I have a few URL shortcuts on my taskbar here and haven't been able to reproduce this issue :(

Hey Keith!

Well I tried with just 1 and also a few, and they all disappear at once. It's strange, this wasn't happening to begin with, not sure if it was an update, or perhaps the 2004 Windows 10 update which is causing this behaviour.
Is there any way I can reinstall and wipe the original config to see if that makes a difference?

Kind regards,
Adam

If you do an uninstall and choose yes when prompted to remove all settings, that will make it start fresh.

Before you do that, could you send me a screenshot of how the taskbar shortcut is configured?

Thanks!

Hi Keith,

I've attached a screenshot of how the shortcuts were configured - I had to redact the URLs etc. as they are business related.

I just uninstalled, removed settings and then removed the folders for AppData and also Program Files (x86) manually, and performed a fresh reinstall.
Now, the shortcuts seem to be working OK - hopefully it stays this way but I'll let you know if the issue resurfaces.

Thanks very much for your help!

Kind regards,
Adam

Hey Keith,

Strangely it was applications and URLs, on all taskbars except for the primary monitor one

Kind regards,
Adam
