I bought the Steam version of this software a while ago. Before that I used Actual Multiple Monitors.
I have the feeling that the function "Prevent Window deactivation" isn't working very often.
For example it does not work in Borderlands 2, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros and Burnout Paradise, while the former product did work.
Now I am wondering if I just use it wrong or if it is the software that can't do it.
I hope you can help me.

Unfortunately this is a known issue. I'm not sure what AMM is doing differently to make it work, but we're planning to re-work the whole Prevent Window Deactivation function in DisplayFusion at some point.
For those games, do they still minimize after running the function, or do they stay up on the screen but you just can't move your mouse cursor outside of the game?

Thanks for your reply.
As you can see from the screenshot I use the method stated in FAQ.
Now a list of all the games I tested and their behaviour:
Banished: When I use this rule, I cannot change the Video Options from the launcher because my clicks aren't registered. But I can change them once ingame. My cursor isn't captured and when I click on my second monitor the game stays maximized on the first.
Besiege: The cursor isn't captured. When I click on my second monitor the game stays maximized.
[!] Borderlands 2: The cursor is captured. If I open the Steam Overlay and click inside the second monitor the game minimizes (the same goes for Alt + Tab).
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box: Mouse isn't captured, but clicking on the second monitor does not minimize the game (it seems I made a mistake concerning this game in my opening post).
Darksiders: The cursor is captured. When I open the Steam Overlay and click inside the second monitor, the game stays maximized. If I Alt + Tab the cursor is forced to the middle and stays there. You cannot move it.
[!] DiRT 3 Complete Edition: When the game is in fullscreen mode when I start it, the second monitor stays black until I leave fullscreen (Alt + Enter) and reenable it again (after that the 2nd screen is fully usable). The cursor isn't captured (even when the 2nd screen is black). Once the screen is usable the game stays maximized if I click inside the second screen.
[!] The Last Remnant: The cursor is captured. When I open the Steam Overlay and click inside the second monitor the game minimizes.
[!] Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros: This is special. The cursor isn't captured and I can click on the 2nd monitor without the game minimizing. But: I can't change things. If I click on a Tab in Firefox nothing happens. If I click on a application in my taskbar nothing happens. After I close the game the changes appear. The Tab is changed and the application started.
Payday 2: The cursor is captured. When I open the Steam Overlay and click inside the second monitor the game stays maximized.
Prototype: The cursor is captured. When I open the Steam Overlay and click inside the second monitor the game stays maximized.
Risk of Rain: The cursor isn't captured. If I click inside the second screen the game stays maximized.
Valdis Story: Abyssal City: The cursor isn't captured. If I click inside the second screen the game stays maximized.
I hope this helps.
It can be seen that the function works with many games, but with some it just doesn't or shows some strange behaviour.
When do you plan to rework the feature?
And I have to say I really like DisplayFusion more than Actual Multiple Monitors. It is easier to use and has some nice features!

Games, where I think the behaviour is wrong, are marked with [!].
[!] Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars: The cursor is captured. If I open the Steam Overlay and click inside the second monitor, the game minimizes.
Starbound: The cursor is captured. If I open the Steam Overlay and click inside the second monitor, the game stays maximized.
[!] Terraria: The cursor isn't captured. If I click on the second monitor, the game minimizes.

Hm, it seems that the function can behave differently depending on the window type the game started in:
If I, for example, start Gnomoria windowed and switch to fullscreen the game won't minimize when I click inside the 2nd screen. But when the game starts in fullscreen it will minimize.
This may be the case for a lot more games.
Interesting! I've tested that here with Terraria and it works as well, good find!

Glad I could help find a bug!
I think I won't update this thread any further for now.
Please inform me when you update the function. I would also like to beta test it if needed!
Will do, thanks for all of your help so far!

Hello! I know that this is several years old, but have there not been any fixes regarding this issue? I've been trying to use it while playing "Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen" and it doesn't work. I hear the tone from my hotkey press but nothing happens. I have used this function in the past on a few games that worked so I was curious to why it wasn't working for me now since this is the first time I've had an issue. Now that I see that others have had issues, I was wondering if the program is still being updated? This function was the whole reason I purchased the software. Thanks!
