Normally, double clicking on my desktop open a new instance of Directory Opus, however after the latest DisplayFusion update a couple of days ago, this has stopped working. The same problem occured last year. At the time, you advised "Since the hooks are Last In, First Out, if you make sure that Directory Opus is launched after DisplayFusion, it will get the hook messages first, and then send them off to DisplayFusion when it's done." You then worked with the DOpus developer and quickly released a fixed beta.
I'm using the same temporary solution as last year, but would it be possible for you to fix it again like you did last year?
Thanks again for your great program.

That's strange! The same fix that we came up with when working with the Directory Opus devs last year should still be working. On my system it does still work. Which version of Directory Opus are you running? Also, if you do a fresh reboot, do you still have to exit/relaunch Directory Opus to get it to work?

I had rebooted and the only way to make it work was to end dopus.exe and dopusrt.exe in Win Task Manager then relaunch Directory Opus. After I had rebooted only once, I immediately used Startup Delayer to delay Dopus so it launches after DF.
Just now after reading your answer, I removed the delay and rebooted twice to make sure, and I still cannot launch DOpus by doubleclicking on the desktop. It appears to be the same problem as last year.
My version of DOpus is 11.6 Build5355 (30/08/2014). Actually, now that I think of it, it was updated only last week.
I'm on Win 7 64 bits

Ok, I was able to reproduce this on another machine here and I've added it to our list. We'll hopefully have it fixed up for the next beta :)

Thanks!

We've just released a new DisplayFusion version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download) and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Hi,

I've also had problems with Directory Opus not reacting to double clicks on the desktop. I use a slightly older version of DO, however, since it has everything that I need and I don't want to upgrade.

So my configuration is:

Windows 8.1 x64 with Update (all MS updates installed)
Directory Opus 9.5.6.0 x64
DisplayFusion 6.1.2 (but the same happens both on 5.1.1 and the newest 7 beta)

After it happend, I deinstalled the software and installed it again. The problem was gone. Then I restored my backed up settings. The problem reappeared. So I figured it must be one of the settings I changed from the default ones. I checked them one by one and voila, I found the culprit. :-)

It's in Window Management -> Mouse Management -> Prevent mouse cursor from snagging on unaligned monitor edges! As soon as this setting is turned on, after 10 seconds or so Directory Opus cannot be started by double-clicking the desktop. As soon as the setting is turned off, Directory Opus immediatelly can be started again. I can reproduce this behavior every single time.

Hope this helps to make your wonderful program even more perfect. 8)

Yeah, that was an incompatibility between the DisplayFusion mouse hooks and the Directory Opus mouse hooks. We had to make changes on both of our ends to resolve it, and I believe the Directory Opus changes were made in version 10, so unfortunately it's not possible to fix up the issue with version 9, sorry :(
