We enabled FIPS cyptographic algorithms in our domain and Display Fusion now will not accept license keys.

This is most likely due to many .NET 2.0 algorithms not working with FIPS.

We have disabled FIPS in the domain (other things also failed...) and everything else has returned to normal.

However on my x64 Vista workstation Display Fusion comes up with:

License Key Error: Error: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.
Would you like to enter a new License Key?

If you say no a message comes up:

Error: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.

If you click okay the program is unregistered but the key is in the registry (unencrypted).

I have rebooted the PC and reinstalled Displayfusion having cleared out the registry.

All FIPS references are set to disabled and the other programs are now okay.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Charles

I have found a way to make .NET 2.0 SP1 and later apps ignore the FIPS setting (if that is easier than fixing the encryption code).

It is basically:

THe info can be found at:

Thank you

This is excellent - thanks! I'll try my best to have this included in the next release. :)
