I have had DisplayFusion on my main PC for a while now, and very pleased with it. I have also had Photoshop 5.5 on the same machine and been using that happily for years. I recently upgraded DisplayFusion to the latest version and coincidentally Photoshop has been hanging whenever I've started it. I appreciate that the 2 events may not be related but I haven't made any other overt changes to the PC.

Is it possible the two apps don't get on?!

Would appreciate any info on known problems.

Thanks

Welldo the quick test of closing DF and then trying PS... See if you can get anything consistent.

Thanks - good advice! Tried it but makes no difference because, today, Photoshop is working either way! I guess it was a one- or two-off problem with PS and not related to DisplayFusion ...

I am curious though - I didn't look to see how Display Fusion operates (being not particularly tech-savvy), but now I wonder why DisplayFusion.exe is running as a process in the background all the time, since nothing seems different if I kill this process. I recall this is an option on installation (run at start up?) but don't know why this is the default if killing the process doesn't affect anything, as far as I can tell.

I'm glad to hear you got things sorted out. DisplayFusion needs to be running in the background to handle things like the hotkeys, window dragging and wallpaper monitoring. If you only use the wallpaper features then there is no need to have it running in the background all the time, except for the convenience of accessing the system tray icon quickly.
