I'm an avid gamer and use the function all the time so I can play my games on my main monitor and browse google chrome in the other, now when ever I activated this function, it would activate almost immediately (1-2 seconds) but after I received the Windows 10 anniversary update it seemed to slow down dramatically upon activation (8-9 seconds). It got pretty frustrating so I decided to give my PC a fresh install of the OS, but it still takes a very long time to activate. Can anyone help?...
It seems to activate right away for me for the games I've tested it on. Which games are you having trouble with?

Counter-strike: Global offensive, Grand Theft Auto 5, DayZ...
Ok, thanks! We tested it with GTA 5 on a different system over the weekend and it still worked right away. If you try a different DisplayFusion Function that makes a noise (maybe "Toggle TitleBar Buttons") while the game is running, is it also delayed?

Yep I tried what you told me and it's still delayed...
Ok, if you run that same function when not in a game, is it still delayed?

Yep, I tried to activate the "Toggle TitleBar Buttons" and it still was delayed. I think it's just Display Fusion not being compatible with Windows 10 Version 1607 (Build 14393.187)

Thanks! I noticed in the Troubleshooting info that DisplayFusion doesn't think the application hook processes are running. Could you check the Windows Task Manager to see if the "DisplayFusionHookApp" processes are running or not?

Yes it looks like there are 2 instances along with a couple other processes.
One is:
DisplayFusionHookAppWIN6032.exe
the other
DisplayFusionHookAppWIN6064.exe
Attatched another screenshot below.

Ok, interesting! If you do a full reboot and try the functions again, are they still delayed? If so, can you send me a new copy of the troubleshooting info?

Seems to be a bit faster after I've tried a reboot and activated the "toggle titlebar buttons". The sound takes roughly 4 seconds now instead of the 9 seconds. Still not immediate like it used to be though.
Here's my troubleshoot now:

Thanks! It's strange that the troubleshooting info is saying the hooks aren't running, when they clearly are. If you drag a window around, do the Titlebar Buttons (Move Window to Next Monitor, etc) lag behind the window, or do they stay pretty much glued to it?

They stay perfectly glued to all my windows.

No!!! It's instantaneous like it used to be! It's fixed!

Oh yes, it is big time in the beta.
Ok, thanks! We're making some changes for 8.1 Beta 2 that should hopefully fix this up, so I'll let you know as soon as it's available to try out.

Delay is still present, I activated the function at 18:31. Here are the 2 files you asked for.

Thanks! We'll review the logs again and see what we can find.
One more question, if you run a function that doesn't play a sound, like Ctrl + Win + X on a window (should move it to the next monitor), does it work right away, or is it delayed as well?

Ctrl + Win + X works right away.
Ok, and when you run the Toggle TitleBar Buttons hotkey, do the buttons hide/unhide right away? I'm wondering if the function is running right away, and it's just the sound effect that's delayed.

Yeah, it seems like it's just the sound. I see the buttons popping up and disappearing right when I hit my hotkey but the sound follows after like 6 seconds.

You are correct sir, first time was delayed, but all the other times after that were immediate!

Excellent, glad to hear that sorted it out!

So will you guys eventually fix that initial lag from the cache?
At the moment, we've done it this way so that the sound files aren't sitting in memory when DisplayFusion first starts, to keep memory usage down on systems that might never play the sound effect. We will look into pre-loading it right on startup for the next version though. If the memory usage isn't much higher, then we'll likely go ahead with that.

Hmm, sounds kind of complex, good luck!
