I have set up Display Fusion to display different wallpapers on each of my monitors, they switch every 20 minutes. Every few hours the wallpaper just turns black on all three monitors and the only way to get it working again is to open the Display Fusion wallpaper settings and click apply.

Please help.

Which wallpaper provider (Source) are you using for the images?

Ok, interesting! That can happen if DisplayFusion can't get an image, but there shouldn't be any reason that it wouldn't be able to get an image from your local drive.

Would you be able to enable debug logging, and send me the log the next time this happens? Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

I managed to fix this on my own. Somehow Windows was inserting the black background because the Windows background setting was set to a solid black color. I changed that to picture and then set up Display Fusion again, now it works perfectly.
