With the latest update (Steam version 9.9), the right clicking the system tray icon has only red squares as icons.

I've resolved the issue for now by uninstalling and reinstalling from Steam. Interestingly, the version that installed from Steam was 9.8, not 9.9.
But now the red boxes are gone.

Hello,
now that steam is updating my version to 9.9, this issue has returned. Is there a way to roll back on steam?

If you set the "Disable Nice Fonts" advanced setting back to default, does this issue persist?
That fixed the issue, no need to roll back version.
