I've been using DF for a while. Since initial setup, I have updated/upgraded. I use a four-monitor setup.

On initial DF setup, I chose to have DF remember the monitor/location at which I last used a given application or subfolder. (I THINK that this was done in DF, as opposed to Win7).

To be VERY clear, I HAVE NOT used "Window Location" on the DF Settings menu to have any program open in a specific location.

For example, say that I click WordPerfect, and it opens on Monitor-1. If I move it to Monitor-2 during that session and then close WP, the next time I click WordPerfect, it opens in Monitor-2. If during that second session I move WP to Monitor-3 and then close WP, it will open in Monitor-3 the next time I click WP.

Also, this works with all folders and subfolders in Windows Explorer. For instance, if I am in the Data folder and click on the Photography subfolder, the Photography subfolder opens in the last location (and monitor) that I last used that subfolder. That location updates whenever I move the window for that subfolder.

This is a cool feature, but I do not want to use it anymore. HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP, and revert to opening subfolders in the same window (location and monitor) as the parent folder???????

I have searched everywhere, and I simply cannot find this information.

Edit: COME ON GUYS. Twenty-four hours, and no one can help me????

It's actually Windows that remembers the last position of a window and re-opens it there. Are you wanting the sub-folders to open within the same Explorer window itself? Or you still want sub-folders to open in a new (separate) window, but be on the same monitor that the parent folder's window is on?

Lammers: "Are you wanting the sub-folders to open within the same Explorer window itself?"

Yes. I have this set in in Win7 through Explorer - Tools - Folder Options - General - Browse Folder - "Open each folder in the same window"

All of my computers are set the same way for "Browse Folders."

On every computer where I am NOT using DF, clicking a subfolder opens the subfolder in exactly the same location/window as the parent folder; i.e. "in the same window."

On the computer where I AM using DF, clicking on a subfolder results in (1) parent folder disappears/closes and (2) subfolder opens wherever I last used that subfolder ... usually on a different monitor and at a different screen location. (I operate a four-monitor setup, using four identical Asus monitors all set to 1920x1080. Call them m1 thru m4.)

I would agree that this is probably a Win7 issue, except that the subfolders DO not operate this way on any of my other Win7 machines ... only the machine on which DF is installed.

For example, if the parent folder is open on m1 and I click a subfolder, the parent folder "window" disappears from m1 and the subfolder "window" opens on m4. This DOES NOT happen on three other Win7 computers (2 desktops and 1 laptop).

Ok, that's really strange, as there aren't any features in DisplayFusion that would be causing that behaviour. If you exit DisplayFusion, does it still happen?

Ok, if DisplayFusion isn't running and that still happens, there must be another utility or something on your system that's doing it, as DisplayFusion doesn't have any background processes that would be moving the windows around like that.

I've never seen that occur before, so I'm not sure where to look, but you can use the Startup tab in msconfig (Start > Run > msconfig) to disable programs from startup to see if you can narrow down which one is causing it.

Hope that helps!
