In this
closed discussion, it was stated that
"Fullscreen RDP windows are special windows, and can't be managed with the HotKeys, sorry."
I am using a full-screen RDP window to connect to my virtual machine at work. My RDP shortcut has the "Apply Windows key combinations" option set to "Only when using the full screen".
I just set up a Windows Position Profile on my VM, and set the hotkey to Alt+Ctrl+PageUp.
This hotkey is captured by the RDP session and passed to DisplayFusion just fine!
However, it seems that some key combinations, such as Alt+Ctrl+Up (the up arrow)
do not work.
The post I referenced above was submitted and answered in 2010. Maybe DisplayFusion and/or Windows RDP app has changed since then, and now some key combinations are usable in an RDP session? That seems to be the case. I'd like to know if it's possible to get the rest of the key combinations to work, such as Alt+Ctrl+Up, or if this will be as good as it gets with regard to using DF hotkeys in an RDP session?
FYI, there's a work-around to this issue: Create a shortcut to the DisplayFusionCommand.exe utility, passing it the -windowpositionprofileload parameter and name of your profile, e.g.:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusionCommand.exe" -windowpositionprofileload "VM - Dual Monitors". Then set a windows hotkey on the shortcut itself. Note that the shortcut might have to be on your desktop or in your start menu's programs folder in order for the shortcut to work. That's true for Windows in general, nothing to do with DF or RDP.
