I am using a 4k TV for a monitor on which I spent a fair amount of time configuring splits, then I realized the monitor would expand from 3840x2160 to 4096x2160. But when I change the resolution to 4096, I loose all previously defined splits, and have to re-define all splits from scratch again for the monitor.

So to rebuild the 4096 screen, I am taking a screen shot of the 3840 resolution Mon Config screen splits to refer to while I define similar splits on the 4096 resolution. I have also thought of taking a screen shot of the monitor and using that as a background picture as a guide to defining the new adjusted splits.

Do you have a utility or method to adjust the same splits for a larger or different size monitor or resolution without re-starting from scratch?

Is there a way to add user defined splits to Preset Splits?

Can you suggest a better/easier procedure?

Thanks
RS

The Monitor Profiles feature will do exactly what you're looking for. You can configure your 2 different configurations with resolutions and splits, then save them as separate profiles. You can quick load each one and even bind them to a hotkey.

Jon,

I don't think you understood my questions.
I am quite familiar with the help file info, and how to create multiple configurations and bind them to a hotkey.

The issue I have is when I change the resolution from 3840x2160 to 4096x2160 on an existing profile , I loose all previously defined splits on that monitor. I have to re-define all splits from scratch again for the monitor, which for 13 split monitors with wallpaper text and colors, waste about an hour or more.

Do you have a utility or method to adjust the same splits for a larger or different size monitor or resolution without re-starting from scratch?

How can I add my own user defined splits to Preset Splits section of the Monitor Configuration?

Can you suggest a better/easier procedure?

Thanks, Ron

Ah, I see what you mean now. Unfortunately the splits are tied to the monitor's exact size. We do offer presets to make it easier, but if you're using something different the only way to configure it is manually through the splits window. Once you have your splits configured for a resolution though, I would recommend saving that as a monitor profile so you don't need to do it over again. :)
