I would like to be able to change the default audio playback device when the resolution of a particular monitor changes.

When the resolution of the monitor is 1024x768, the audio playback device would be "Speakers". When the resolution is 1440x900, the audio playback device would be "Yamaha Receiver".

I know how to script it to determine the resolution and then change the audio device, but I can't figure out how to trigger this automatically on resolution change.

The display resolution would get changed by an application other than DisplayFusion, so I need someway for DisplayFusion to "see" that the resolution has changed.

Does anyone know of a way to do this in DisplayFusion?

Thanks!

You can do this by saving each resolution as a Monitor Profile, then assigning the appropriate Audio Device to each Monitor Profile. Please see this guide for more details: Working with DisplayFusion Monitor Profiles

Hope that helps!

Thanks Keith, that worked perfectly.

I always assumed that for the monitor profile switching to be detected, the switch had to be triggered through DisplayFusion (not a third party app changing the resolution). I'm happy to be wrong.

It's amazing that I originally bought this program just so my wallpaper would stop getting screwed up by windows, and I'm still finding great things it can do. Keep up the great work :)
