Sorry to bring up this old issue, but I am using Rockmelt, a web browser built off of Chromium. I am having the same issue as the original poster. Center/scroll-wheel click does not close any tabs; instead, it just moves the window to the other monitor.

No worries, I've split this off into a new topic.
I've tested and confirmed this issue. We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we're able to fix it up.
