Hey all,

I use a ton of windows - tons. I use Display Fusion across 3 30" displays. One thing I would like to be able to do is Shift+CLICK (mouse click) on a taskbar and have it open a new instance of whatever application I am clicking just like Windows 7 does natively on its original taskbar. IE. shift+click on a remote desktop window on the taskbar opens a new remote desktop log in window.

Just a suggestion - maybe this is already supported and I don't even realize.

Thanks,
Jon

This is an excellent idea, and something DisplayFusion can already do (sort of). In the Taskbar settings window, you can choose what middle-clicking on a taskbar button does. You can have it close the instance, open a new instance... etc. This should be exactly the functionality you are looking for, just with a different mouse button. :)

I concur that this feature needs to be added, re: shift+click opens a new instance. The work-around provided changes the default behavior of what were used to with shift+click. Please provide this option.

Thanks!

SHIFT+Click to open a new instance seems to work for me in 3.4.1. Are you running a different version?

shift+click on the secondary monitor, with the Display Fusion task bar, closes the window (or group of windows) for me with win7 x64, display v3.4.1. On the primary monitor with the native windows task bar opens a new window using shift+click.

Ah ok. DisplayFusion allows you to customize the Shift+Click behaviour in the Taskbar settings. Just change the "Taskbar Button Middle-Click (or Shift + Left-Click) Behaviour" dropdown to "Open a new instance".

Thanks!
