I notice that apps set to launch with administrative privilege do not start from shortcuts pinned to the DisplayFusion taskbar. Is this an inherent limitation or a temporary bug?

Thanks!

Interesting! I hadn't noticed this before. If you CTRL+Click the shortcut, will it launch?

My turn: very interesting! Indeed a Ctrl + click works … however, the UAC prompt itself opens on monitor 1 (and I am embarrassed not to have intuited that). To my way of thinking, the logic of the workflow is that a shortcut is placed on the DisplayFusion taskbar because that's where the app will be used. Mousing back to monitor 1 is a minor disruption. I well understand this behavior [placement of the UAC prompt] may be dictated by Windows and so out of DisplayFusion's control.

As an aside, I discovered this business testing Windows 8 and I must say DisplayFusion is working brilliantly on it already. Microsoft may think multi-monitor support has been improved in the new Windows but it is your utility that makes multi-monitors efficient and a joy to use.

Best wishes!

Glad to hear it's been working well in Windows 8!

I agree that the UAC prompt should show on the screen that the shortcut was launched from, but I'm not sure if it's possible. We'll investigate that as well.

I'll be sure to post an update as soon as we have one.

Thanks!

In DisplayFusion 4.0 Beta 12, the taskbar shortcuts that are set to run elevated should now run correctly. Unfortunately we're not able to force the monitor where the UAC prompt opens up though.

Thanks!
