Hi, I'm using Windows 11 Pro x64 and I've noticed that the Snipping Tool built into the OS has a weird issue. Nothing too serious but certainly annoying if you use it regularly like I do.
If you launch the app and move it to a secondary monitor, the icon will show in that monitor's taskbar just fine. However, the moment you capture a screenshot using the app, the icon will go back to the main monitor although the window will stay in the secondary monitor.
If there are any logs or tests I need to do to further troubleshoot the issue, I'd be glad to. I use the tool a lot and just recently purchased DisplayFusion. I'm aware that Windows 11 hasn't been around for that long so I expect this kind of bugs every now and then, but it would be nice to get it fixed.
Thanks!
I can't seem to reproduce this on my end. Could you send me over a video of the issue happening?
Thanks!

I have the same issue, the icon appears in the task bar but will not actually open. The print screen is there, but will not full open. If i use the move to next monitor function, it will not work on any virtual split with a DP task bar, but it will work on the native task bar. Since I cannot open the tab, the only way to do this is the send to next monitor function.
Also, weirdly. If I take screenshot on the virtual monitor split, then move it to the native monitor using the next monitor feature. It will then open normally. If I take that screenshot and drag it to the DP virtual monitor I can open and close it normally. But only for that single instance. Next time the screenshot will not reopen.
I have tried repairing and resetting the Snip it tool.

We were able to reproduce this on our end so I've added it to our list to look into.
Thanks!
We took a look into this, it's actually an issue with the snipping tool itself, it's not something we can fix on our end.
That being said, the issue does seem to be fixed with Win11 23H2 22631.3880, and newer builds.
Thanks!
