Since last week, at a seemingly random moment, the screen starts going haywire. I don't know what triggers it.
Setup is 1 laptop with an additional ultrawide screen above it.
Explained in the screenshot what happens.
When closing DF, it shows normal, but as soon as I turn on DF again, that weird black area is there again and maximizing doesn't work anymore. Only logging out or rebooting helps.

To be honest, we don't know what's causing this as we can't reproduce it here. I was waiting to hear back from you on my previous questions. Could you try sending a copy of the troubleshooting info when everything is fine? I'd like to compare it to the previous troubleshooting info.
I only use this extra monitor when at work. I never have the issue when using a single monitor, and DF is also running then.
This troubleshooting I copied when 2 monitors were on and at a time without issues.
It's now a matter of time before it happens again.

This is the troubleshooting copy immediately after the taskbar jumped to the right.
Edit: screenshot of the 2 screens attached
When I originally posted this, I was using a dell docking station.
Now I'm using a usb-3.1 to HDMI converter and the issue is still there.
I can give you control over the laptop if you want to inspect it.
It's really annoying and it's so random, cannot possibly figure out what triggers it, even after 100 times.

Thanks! I'm kind of stumped here. The troubleshooting info looks the same for both the fine and broken scenarios. Could you enable debug logging, and send over the debug log right after the next time this occurs? Here are the steps:
On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
Restart DisplayFusion
Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)

Will do. Monday I'm back at the office with that particular screen.

I keep forgetting to send the error log when it happens.
What I did try is putting the taskbar at the bottom and see if it still happens.
Yes, it seems to have randomly flipped upwards. See screenshot.
The strange part is that when I rightclick to set position to bottom it still stays in the wrong place, but when I click "auto-hide" it does go to the correct place. I don't want it to autohide though, but hopefully this helps to identify the problem.

Ok, thanks! The debug log will still be needed, as it should indicate the reason that the taskbar is reloading/moving so that we can dig deeper to try and find the cause of this.
It just happened moments ago.
I've attached the error log and a screenshot.
Note that the background also seems to have shifted and the context menu when right-clicking an icon in the tray seems to appear in the correct place.
Also after this, I move the taskbar to the bottom and then back to the left, it restores itself, but then on the OTHER screen, it leaves a strange gap that is not utilized when maximizing a window. I cannot fix this gap by any means and that's when I need to log off and log back in. (see screenshot 2)

Pretty sure now that is has something to do with display scaling and the position of the taskbar is irrelevent.
I am now at my desktop PC, on which it never happened. Just one hour ago I put display scaling of 1 screen up to 150% and boom, taskbar went out of place and all windows leave a permanent trail when you drag them. See photo in attachment... putting the display scaling back at 100% puts everything back in its place and the permanent windows trails disappear. On a 4k screen, display scaling is desirable.
I hope you can find the problem, this is very irritating.

Thanks, that's the troubleshooting info though. I need the debug log (DisplayFusion.log) right after it's happened.
For the issue on your other machine (trails behind windows, etc), if you exit DisplayFusion, does that still happen? I've seen this before with another customer and for him it happened even without DisplayFusion. It seemed to be a display driver issue as it only happened when he had his portrait monitor scaled. If he set it to landscape, it was fine.
Did you have logging enabled (set to L1: Log Minimial) on the Troubleshooting tab before the issue occurred? There aren't any lines in the log from DisplayFusion.exe
Here are the full logging steps again for reference:
On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
Restart DisplayFusion
When the taskbar jumps, note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
