Could you enable debug logging and then send us the log via email?

To enable debug logging:

  • Open the DisplayFusion settings
  • Click the Troubleshooting tab
  • Check the “Enable debug logging” box
  • Produce the issue
  • Click the “Open Log Location” button
  • Email the “DisplayFusion.log” text file to support@displayfusion.com

Thanks!

Awesome, thanks. I noticed in the troubleshooting info posted above that it shows Beta 8. Are you still on Beta 8 or have you installed Beta 9 from yesterday?

Ok so it turns out that the Start menu is failing to open on the correct screen because you've got the "General: Disable Application Hooks" advanced setting enabled. We'll be putting a fix into one of the next few betas that will make the Start menu work even when that setting is enabled.

Thanks!

yes, i have that enabled because of the incompatibility with the start menu drop down menu's. thanks for looking into the issue

No problem. We just found out that we can't make the Start menu work in Windows 7 when the application hooks are disabled.

The issue with the Start menu drop down menus should actually be fixed in the latest beta (Beta 10). Can you try enabling the application hooks again?

Thanks!

i am running beta 10 and i reset the application hooks in advanced settings to the default value (blank, not 1)
I just went through the various menus and I am still getting the problem of the blank menu's, 'downloads' sub menu always works, the others remain blank when you don't allow time for the menu to close before moving to another menu.

Could you take a screenshot of the start menu with the blank menu issue? I'm curious to see what it looks like as mine seems to be working ok.

Thanks!

I had reported this before in this thread:
http://www.binaryfortress.com/Forum/index.php?topic=1744.msg8992#msg8992
I posted a screenshot, and the youtube video might still be up

Ah gotcha, I hadn't seen that previous thread. I just tested it out and am definitely having the same issue. We likely won't be able to fix it but we're going to revisit the issue anyhow to see if we can come up with something.

Thanks!
