Hi! I have two problems.
Windows 8 Pro x64
DisplayFusion 5.1.1 Pro
Start8 1.3.1
Problem #1
On secondary taskbars, notifications flash on the wrong icon. Generally, it always flashes on the left-most application even if that isn't the one generating the notification.
Problem #2
Not sure if...(insert meme here)...DisplayFusion problem, Start8 problem, or combination problem. I've verified that "show start buttons on secondary taskbars" is OFF in Start8.
Yet, when I press the Windows key, start menus open on the secondary screen. Again, I am not entirely sure this is a DisplayFusion issue--but given that it is capable of display both buttons and menus on secondary screens (and Start8 is supposed to be behaving) I figured I'd ask here to see if DisplayFusion has anything to do with it.

Here is the log and also the debug info.
Log should have several events, at least one at 1:55PM and another at 2:03PM (arrival of instant messages).

Application notification in the lower-right. Generated by the application with the GREEN arrow (Trillian), note the flash on the application with the RED arrow (Chrome).
There are no start buttons on any taskbar except the actual Windows taskbar. The start button is "Disabled" in the setting you described.

Tested and confirmed the Start Menu issue, and I've added it to our list to fix.
For the taskbar button flashing issue, does it always happen with the Trillian toast notifications? Or with other applications as well?

Thanks! So I'm not crazy with the Start menus.
On the other topic. I have only noticed it with Trillian because, being an instant-messenger client, it generates many notifications. I will have to see about testing other applications. Any suggestions? Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything else that generates that many taskbar flashes.
NOTE: This flashing-issue only appeared recently, though unfortunately I can only give a vague idea as to when ("sometime in late November").
Interesting. I've been trying to reproduce this issue here but haven't had any luck. Which version of Trillian are you running?

5.4 Build 13 Pro. This is an x86-only application.
Ok, same here. In the Preferences > Chat Windows tab, what do you have the "When a new window is created..." option set to?

Sorry--busy with work and school.
When a new window is created...
- Show the window on the desktop
- Show new windows at their previous location and size
No worries, thanks for posting that! My settings are the same and I still haven't been able to reproduce the issue. Are there any specific steps that seem to cause this issue to occur on your machine?
Thanks!

Nothing that I can think of comes to mind.
This may not be relevant, but my screens are arranged such that the side monitors are "lower" than the center one (demanding monitor re-positioning in DF/Windows).
Also of note, when the Trillian icon fails to flash correctly, the edges disappear off its button as demonstrated in flat-button.png (first attachment) instead of looking normal (shown) and orange (not shown--normal-button.png).
The "wrong button flash" can be really weird. Just now as I was typing this, it flashed correctly, but then I switched through several windows on that monitor. That triggered the flat button shown. Switched through windows again, and the button to the right (grey "X"--eVGA Precision videocard tweak tool) started flashing...

Ok, interesting. Are you switching through the windows using the taskbar buttons, or alt-tab?

Oh geeze I thought I replied to this. Apparently not.
I've seen the wrong-flash with ALT-TAB and clicking through, though clicking through is more likely to result in an eventual "correction" vs. ALT-TAB. In either case, the flashes eventually fix themselves, usually by stopping entirely.
