Hello,

This might be related to my other ongoing discussion, "After selecting the 'Show in Windows desktop context menu' option it is deselected!" as it's on the same laptop...

While trying to troubleshoot my other ongoing discussion I noticed that DisplayFusion Pro v10.1.2 wasn't starting automatically on my new Windows 11 laptop. So I upgraded DF to v11.0 Beta 2 and that appears to have resolved the 'auto-start with Windows' issue but now in DF's settings I see that the 'Start with Windows' and 'Show in Windows desktop context menu' options are greyed out/disabled (see attached image). Furthermore, there is now no 'Some settings are managed by your system administrator' message at the bottom of DF's Settings dialog.

I'm still not seeing any entries for DF in Windows desktop context menu but now I can't even select the option!

Could you tell me why those 2 options are disabled?

Kind regards,

/Neil

Can you check this registry path and see if there are any keys there? Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Binary Fortress Software\DisplayFusion

It really seems like something on your network is forcing those settings

Hi Owen,

I've attached an image of the registry path. On my older laptop running DF v10.1.2 and Windows 10, the 2 registry values ShowDesktopContextMenuItems and StartWithWindows are not present.

Kind regards,

/Neil

Ah, because those keys are in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" section, they are applied to any user on the machine which is why you can't enable/disable them. If you delete them and restart DisplayFusion, you should be able to adjust the settings via the settings window again

Hi Owen,

I removed the 2 registry keys and restarted DisplayFusion - the 2 options were then enabled! Furthermore, my other ongoing issue "After selecting the 'Show in Windows desktop context menu' option it is deselected!" was also resolved.

Thanks for your assistance.

/Neil
