This started after I started getting a explorer.exe getting stack overflow error once or more a day. After seeing a similar post here I updated to the newest beta and almost immediately started getting the new error. In both cases the taskbar on my second monitor disappears after clearing the alert, but it would always reload with the previous error. Now I have to restart DF in order to get the taskbar back. Took screenshots of the error and task manager for reference.

I'm only seeing the task manager screenshot. Could you attach the one of the error as well?

Thanks!

No worries, thanks! I will pass this over to our developers for review.

Are you currently running DisplayFusion 10.1.2? If so, could you try updating to the latest DisplayFusion 11 beta and let me know if you still get that error?

  • On the Settings > Options tab, enable the "Check for new Beta (newer, unstable) versions" option
  • Click the Apply button
  • Click the "Check for Updates" button

I started getting this error after updating to 11 (Beta 4) last week. Before that I was getting a stack overflow for explorer.exe error.

Ok, thanks for confirming you're already on the beta. Could you do the following for me?

  • Open the Windows Task Manager
  • On the Details tab, right-click the column header and choose "Select columns"
  • Enable these columns: Handles, Threads, User Objects, GDI Objects
  • The next time this happens, send me a screenshot of those stats, along with the CPU and memory usage stats for DisplayFusion.exe and also for explorer.exe

Thanks!
