tested all other fading modes with a maximized Window on primary screen.
Sorry no Taskbar coming up.
First dump minimal is attached.
Just for information: Taskbar is coming up on primary screen on that part where no window is. The taskbar is opening behind the Window. So in my opinion the fading process is stealing the taskbars "on top".
I sent you already a dump minimal see post before.
But ok here is a new one.
"L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply OK
Reopened Setting fading on.
Set Outlook to max window
whent to button three or more times (no taskbar)
"Export Info to File"
Sent dump to you.
disabled minimal logging and fading
before asking me for the L3 All Logging.
Here it is.
Always enabling fading ok
max. Exploer on Primary (no Taskbar)
min. Exploer settings DF export
Disable Logging and fading max. exploer and tasbar is coming up.
Unfortunately, nothing suspicious seems to be showing up in those logs. If you exit DisplayFusion, and launch it as administrator, does the issue persist?
I stoped displayfusion and run as admin. Same problem.
Same is if I assign a key.
Window maximize. -> down to taskbar with mouse coming up fine.
Pressing key combination. -> down to taskbar with mouse taskbar not coming up.
winver: 20H2 Build 19042.928
no errors on sfc /sannow.
Chnaged DF to 9.7.2 (Beta 9).
Interesting, so if I understand correctly, when you use your mouse to maximize the window it works okay, but when you use a key combination to maximize it, that's when the issue happens?
I do not understand that you can not reproduce. Primary is an LG UHD Monitor and Secondary is an old LG Plasma HD.
Scenario is always the same:
DF Monitor Fading / Enabling Monitor Fading / Fade Non-Current Monitors
open e.g. Explorer moving it to the left HD Screen
LG HD gets dark.
Moving explorer to primary and maximize the Window on LG UHD
going down with the mouse with Windows taskbar not coming up.
Thanks for clarifying for me. Indeed I have tried those steps, but I still can't seem to reproduce anything. When the issue happens, if you press the Windows key on your keyboard, does the taskbar come up?
first of all thank you for your help on solving this issue.
Now the good and bad message in one. Fading is now working like expected.
The cause was not DF. Normally I am not very stylish . But tried to make Windows Taskbar transparent like DF taskbar. So I installed TranslucentTB. But this was the problem. Maybe after so long seeking to fade out my display I will try to figure out later DF and TranslucentTB working in peace. If you have any suggest I would be happy. But ok it's not your job and maybe a bug of TranslucentTB.
Ah, interesting. If you right click the tray icon for TranslucentTB, and go to Advanced > Edit settings, could you send me over the config file that appears?
I am totally confused. Last time I reported everything is good while TranslucentTB is uninstalled. Today I have the same error (TranslucentTB uninstalled). Again when Monitor fading disabled the Windows taskbar comes up on maximized window.
Strange. Again searching for the error I found a blog someone complaining taskbar not coming up. The software is doing a dim called dimmer (maybe nearly the same like fading). https://superuser.com/questions/1163969/windows-10-taskbar-is-not-always-on-top.
Part of the Blog: "Pires Dimmer caused this problem for me. Turning it off fixed the issue."
That's really strange, I tested TranslucentTB on my end, and I couldn't seem to reproduce the issue still. Can you close down every non-essential application that isn't DisplayFusion, and see if the issue persists?
I already said that uninstall TranslucentTB did not the trick. From TaskMgr I deaktivated all except displayfusion and security related.
Nothing! The Windows taskbar is not coming up when I enable fading.
The most annoying problem is that you cannot repruduce the error.
I tried Dimmer (https://www.nelsonpires.com/software/dimmer) with nearly same behavior. This is the recording including settings and showing taskbar not coming up.

Difference when you look on the second screen:

it is not dimmed all over. Size in inch is the same size as screen 1.
Ok this dimming is not so fine as the fading ind displayfusion but taskbar is also not coming up. So from my side it must be dependent on the fading process.
found pangobright (dimming tool):
https://www.pangobright.com/
that does not have the error on partly dimming second screen.
But when enabled Windows taskbar also not comming up.
That's interesting it keeps happening when running various different fading programs. It really sounds like there's another program running in the background causing this.
Could you send me over an updated copy of your troubleshooting information? I'll attach the steps again below:
Thanks for sending that over. Unfortunately without being able to reproduce the issue on our end locally, we're stuck here. I've added this to our list to look into, and I'll keep an eye out to see if any other customers experience something similar. Please let me know if you discover anything further that might be of use.
Hello Owen,
great that up to Version 10.0 (Beta 13) (now on Windows 11) no one can reproduce the error. So nobody has the problem. Sorry for the circumstances of my configuration. But I solved my problem. So you can close the problem.
