When set to auto-hide. Can this be fixed?

What do you mean by transparent? What do you have the opacity set to on the DisplayFusion Taskbar settings tab?

The taskbar starts out the correct color (depending on the theme, etc.), however if it is set to auto-hide, after a while it loses color and becomes clear (transparent). If i reset it to not auto-hide, the color returns. I have been using Ultramon for sometime, and am contemplating switching to your app, btw, Ultramon's taskbar does exactly the same thing (becomes clear/transparent) when set to auto-hide.

Thanks

Are you using any other Windows theming utilities (like WindowBlinds... etc)? It's very strange that both DisplayFusion and UltraMon turn clear when set to auto-hide. Does this happen right away, or only after running for a while?

Jon,

I'm not using anything else besides DisplayFusion. It happens after a while, and as far as I can tell does not happen if bar is not set to autohide. This has been acknowledged as an issue in Ultramon as well.

Thanks for your help....

What version of Windows are you using? Can you please post the information from the Troubleshooting tab in the DisplayFusion Settings window? Thanks!

Excellent - thanks! The next time it happens, can you post a screenshot of your desktop? I'd like to see exactly what it looks like when it happens, so I can try to narrow down what's causing it. I can't seem to replicate the problem here. Thanks!

Can you take a screenshot of your Windows color settings? Also, are you using font scaling at all? It looks like the icons on the Windows taskbar are bigger than the DF taskbar. Thanks!

Jon, I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit RTM and I have enabled Auto hide on both Windows TB and the DF TB to see if I can cause this to occur. I have a theory, but I want to check a couple of things first before I am sure....

OK, I have been actively using this computer the entire time with the DF TB and Windows TB both auto hidden. The DF TB has *not* gone transparent (not anymore so than it already is).

Now to put my theory to the test....

I change the Opacity (any number) and it will work for a while, but for an unknown reason (can't figure out what/why) it goes back to transparent.

Same thing is happening to me too. My color is currently set to the default blue color. There's no font scaling either. If it matters, I'm using the latest nvidia drivers on a 9800GT card, 190.62.

I can reliably reproduce this error. The problem isn't dependent on how many times you make it show. The problem happens when I use the aero peek to look at open windows or view the desktop. However, Flip3D doesn't cause it to happen and neither does that effect you get when you drag a window to the edge of the monitor (you know, the maximize thing where you see a translucent outline).

It handles Aero Peek much better, and fixes a few other bugs related to taskbar redrawing issues. Thanks!

Hi Jon - I think you've got it... The taskbar no longer goes transparent, thanks. I updated to the 3.1.4.2 beta, btw.

When do you expect this to go out of beta?

Thanks again for fixing this.

That's excellent news! I expect that the final version will be released in 2-3 weeks, but there's no harm (except for the occasional bug) in continuing to use the beta. :)

Jon - one thing you might want to note: tho the taskbar does not go transparent, it is a different color than the main taskbar. I've attached two files to illustrate.

The taskbar colour issue is something I am working to fix for version 3.2. It is more apparent with some colour combination's, but because it is a cosmetic bug it has received a bit lower priority than some of the more urgent issues. :)
