Im on Version 10 (Beta 2) and I have found an issue where the taskbar will flash up (assuming its reloading) when a window is fullscreened even though I have "All taskbar reloading while full screen applications are running" unticked. It seems to be reloading every few minutes

Hello,

Strange, if you open up Task Manager > Details, are there any processes labelled "nvsmartmaxapp" running?

Thanks!

Ive started a full screen video on one screen and then opened task manager up on another. There is no process running by that name.

Hello,

Is the full screen video on a different monitor than the taskbar that's flickering?

Thanks!

No. The task bar is showing and then hiding on the same screen as the full screen video is playing.

Hello,

Could you send me over a debug log? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Managed to capture it. Hope it shows in the logs. 10:49am (UK Time - BST)
Interestingly, i had Youtube playing on fullscreen for about 15 minutes at least, i then dragged that chrome tab to a different monitor, changed to fullscreen again and within a minute (maybe less), it flashed up. Not sure if related or just a coincedance? Sat here watching the golf on my PC through Sky Go app, im still seeing the bar pop up.

Hello,

Interesting, thanks for sending that over. If you disable the start menu on your DisplayFusion taskbars, does the issue persist?

Thanks!

Sorry not quite sure where i need to go to disable for this? If i stop Displayfusion from starting upon boot, i only get a taskbar on my main monitor or do you mean there is something DF that i can do?

Hello,

Interesting, do you mind running with that start menu disabled for a few days, to confirm that fixes it?

Thanks!

Seems by disabling the start menu on the screen that i want to use, seems to fix it... However, when i click start on a seperate screen, the taskbar will show on the full screen video monitor until i close the start menu. I assume this is related.
What are the next steps to help this issue in being fixed as its quite annoying having to keep enabling and disabling the start menu button when i want to watch a full screen video.

Hello,

Thanks for confirming that. Could you send me over a backup of your DisplayFusion Settings? You can grab them in the Options tab of the DisplayFusion Settings window, using the "Export Settings" button.

I'll see if I can reproduce the issue on my end :)

Thanks!

The issue described here seems to be the same issue I'm experiencing and have outlined in my thread as well!

Hello,

Could you head into the DisplayFusion Advanced Settings and turn on "SetWindowPos: Log Calls", restart DisplayFusion, and then send me over another debug log with the log level set to "3"?

Thanks!

Just to be sure, do you need me to produce the issue again whilst the log level is set to 3 or doesnt it matter for your investigations?

Hello,

Yup, if you can reproduce the issue with L3 logging set, it should give us more information.

Thanks!

Please see attached. The bar loaded on its own at 16:10 (hopefully the log has captured this)

Were my L3 logs of any use? Is there anything else you would like me to do to help with this investigation?

Hello,

It doesn't look like that log has anything pointing to that taskbar issue. Unfortunately without being able to reproduce the issue locally, it's pretty tough for us to fix.

We'll let you know if we need any further information.

Thanks!

Hello,

Are you running any other 3rd party software that adjusts your taskbar/start menu, like Classic Shell?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm pretty stumped on this one! I'm going to keep an eye out to see if any other customers experience something similar. If we're able to reproduce the issue on our end, or have any other things to check, we'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks!

Hello,

We've made some further adjustments in our latest beta. Can you try updating and let me know if the issue persists?

Thanks!
