The Windows taskbar is always showing all windows regardless of the setting I put in the taskbar mode. Usually it would only show relevant windows, but all of a sudden today it starting showing all windows on the default taskbar even if I tell it not to display any windows. I noticed my copy of DisplayFusion was out of date, but when I updated it to 7.2, the problem still persisted.

All I want is for the Windows taskbar to only show relevant windows again, but no setting that I change affects it in any way.

I seem to have similar issue. Under W10 with the latest DF, the second display's taskbar is stuck in auto-hide and nothing I change in DF appears to impact it.

When you right-click on the secondary taskbar, do you get the DisplayFusion context menu, or the Windows one? Thanks!

I have 2 monitors. My second monitor works perfectly fine using DisplayFusion and everything works as expected. When I right click the task bar on the second monitor the DisplayFusion context menu pops up. On my primary monitor the taskbar opens the Windows context menu.

@Kail: If you right-click the taskbar and navigate to Multi-Monitor Taskbar > Auto-Hide > Disabled, does that change anything?

When it was broken? Yes. I even watched DF change the registry setting. DF just wouldn't turn auto-hide off. When, I used a DF 7.1 registry backup, it worked. It's all in my post.

When I booted my pc today it was just working again. I didn't change any settings or anything so it is quite weird.

I have the same problem as Oirad. I have installed DF on a new Win10 laptop. The primary display shows the win10 taskbar and context menu when right clicked. the secondary monitor shows DF.

Any suggestions?
Cheers

It's actually normal for the Primary monitor to have the Windows taskbar. DisplayFusion doesn't replace the Windows taskbar, it only adds/replaces the taskbars on the non-primary monitors :)

There's still a bug, that DFP dosen't change the colour of the taskbar depending on the wallpaper.
No matter if I turn off this option in DFP or in Win10, the colour won't change.
Any suggestions?

Strange! It seems to be working for me. In the Windows Personalization settings, do you have the "Show colour on Start, taskbar, and action centre" option enabled?

Can you attach a copy of your troubleshooting info?
  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Copy to Clipboard" button
  • Paste the text into a text file (please don't paste the text directly into your reply, the formatting gets garbled and makes it difficult to parse)
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks! I don't see anything out of the ordinary there. If you exit DisplayFusion and set Windows up to change the wallpaper, does the taskbar colour change?
