If I am watching a full screen video through vlc or other programs when I get a discord notification my task bar shows up for a few seconds. This is not the biggest deal in the world but it can get annoying when i get several notifications rapidly which does happen often since im in so many channels.
Is it just the DisplayFusion taskbar that shows up, or does the Windows taskbar show up too?

Only the display fusion one I had to uninstall for now since it was becoming to much of an annoyance
Ok, no worries. Did you have your taskbars set to auto-hide?

No I had them set to always display, I don't like to have them hidden.
Ok, on the Settings > Taskbar tab, can you try disabling the "Show taskbar in front of full screen" option?

I tried that and then it just stayed if front
