I have display fusion through steam and i am having trouble getting my autocad sessions to show up in the relevant taskbar. I have under Taskbar Mode: "All taskbars show relevant windows". This setting works correctly for all of my programs except for AutoCAD. If i open up a session of autocad and put it on the secondary screen that has the display fusion taskbar, it will show the autocad session in the display fusion taskbar, as well as the windows taskbar, and then any files that i open up in that single autocad session, will show up on only in the windows taskbar. Can someone help me please. I am ultimately trying to be able to open up 2 different autocad sessions, one on each screen, and all of the files i open up in each session will show up only in the relevant taskbar. I am having this same issue on two different computers, on has a Gforce video card and one has a quadro 600 card. This happens on autocad 2012 and autocad MEP 2014.

Thanks
Andrew

I was able to reproduce the taskbar button issue here, so we'll see what we can do to fix that up. As for having separate AutoCAD windows on each monitor, it looks like you'll need to launch a separate instance of AutoCAD from the Start menu to have a second window. Otherwise the files just open up in the same window, similar to how Excel does it.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for looking at this for me. And yes, the way i work is with 2 separate sessions of autocad open, each on a different monitor. It just gets really hectic and time consuming if the actual files open don't show up on the correct monitor's taskbar. Thanks again!!!

We've just released DisplayFusion 5.1 Beta 17, and it should hopefully fix up the taskbar button issues with having multiple AutoCAD files open. Note that the AutoCAD button behaves weirdly, and for some reason, it won't minimize when clicking the button on our taskbar, but unfortunately it doesn't seem like that's something we're able to fix at the moment.

Thanks!

It is still working the same way it was, is there a setting that i need to change or anything? I have all taskbars show relevant window selected. I even tried uninstalling display fusion and reinstalling. Is there something im missing?

Thanks
Andrew

Seems to be working for me with Beta 17. When I open the first file on the second monitor, it shows up only on that taskbar. When I open the second file on the second monitor, it shows up briefly on the primary monitor, and then moves over to the correct one.

On your system, is it still showing the taskbar button on the Primary monitor when you open the second file on the second monitor?

See the attached image of my desktop and taskbars. I have one session open on the 2nd screen, all of the files open in that session show up in the taskbar of the first screen.

Weird! I've tried setting it up the same way as yours (monitor 2 on the left of monitor 1) but it still works great here for me. Could you attach a copy of the info from the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab while this issue is present?

Thanks!

So i opened up one session of autocad on the 2nd monitor and then opened up a second drawing in that same session of autocad and then opened up troubleshooting and and copied the text out of troubleshooting. See attached. And what i just realized is that display fusion works fine with autocad 2014, i was using autocad 2012.

Ah ok, we were only able to test it with AutoCAD 2014, as we weren't able to find a trial for AutoCAD 2012. If you can do the following, we might be able to fix it for AutoCAD 2012 as well.
  • Download and install Window Detective: http://windowdetective.sourceforge.net/
  • Launch Window Detective, and change the "View" drop-down to "Process window hierarchy"
  • Use the "Pick window" button on the toolbar to select the AutoCAD 2012 window (drag it over top of the window)
  • When it selects the AutoCAD 2012 process in Window Detective, click the + next to it to expand it's tree
  • Attach a screenshot of the Window Detective window so that we can see the whole process tree for AutoCAD 2012 in the left pane

Thanks!

With DisplayFusion 5.1, this issue should hopefully be fixed up for AutoCAD 2012 as well. Please let us know if not :)

Thanks!

Hi,

I am having the exact same problem, all files opened (other than the first opened) in AutoCAD LT 2013 show up on main taskbar, and a single button is displayed on the DisplayFusion taskbar.

Running DisplayFusion Pro 6.0.0 (I had to select "allow unstable beta releases" or the like, to install this version) from Steam, & AutoCAD LT 2013.

Thanks

I'll need to test this out with AutoCAD 2013. I'll grab a trial and see what I can find out :)

Just tested this out here and it seems to be working fine for me. Could you grab the Window Detective info for AutoCAD 2013 as per the steps in post #10?

Here are two screenshots showing the full tree under AutoCAD LT 2013, with the highlighted file in the first screenshot being the file selected by the window selection tool.

Thanks for your help on this! Really hope we can get this sorted.

Oh, and if it helps, I am using my second screen as the primary monitor (Screen number "2" is set as my primary display in Displayfusion's Monitor Configuration). Maybe this has something to do with it?

Thanks Daniel! The Window Detective info was helpful, and we should have this fixed up for Beta 5 :)
