I did a search on this but I am not sure what to call the problem....
If anyone have seen this before and made another thread please point me in the right direction.

I just added another screen to my rig to a total of 3.
Not sure if this is relevant but that is the only change as far as I can tell.

After this addition, the text in the settings window is rendered vertically instead of horisontally
The icons "work" as they should in the way that clicking one of them show the relevant information.
It is just the text thats not quite up to spec....

See attached screenshot.

edit:
I tried to reinstall Df to see if I had activated some feature but no difference in behaviour.
After that I uninstalled DF, did a manual sweep of the registry and removing everything with binaryfortress or displayfusion in it.
Reinstall DF..... No difference. The text in settings is still rendered vertically.
?!?!

Maybe I missed a registry setting.... This is weird!

Wow, I have never seen this before. Can you copy/paste the information from the Troubleshooting tab here so I can see a little more about your system configuration? Thanks!

I have attached a test build to try and fix this issue. Can you extract these 2 files into your DisplayFusion installation folder and overwrite DisplayFusion.exe and en.lang? Give it a try and let me know if it works for you. Thanks! :)

Update: Removed the test build.

Certainly! :-)
Thats what I got that shiny blue icon over there on the left for 8-)

No change I am afraid. :-(
Attached a screenshot for you to verify that the correct version is active

edit: I did not mention that this only happens in the settings dialogue.
Rightclicking the DF icon and selecting "Desktop Wallpaper" does not show this behaviour.

I'll keep working on this, but I have no ideas right now. I'll hopefully come up with something before the first beta. :) Thanks for following-up.

Do you have a list of files and registry settings that are added to the system?
If I try to manually remove EVERY trace of DF and then reinstall to see if this is a DF only or a DF-w7-murphy combo?

DisplayFusion only adds files to it's installation folder in Program Files\DisplayFusion, and it only adds registry keys to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Binary Fortress Software\DisplayFusion. If you remove both of these and re-install it will be completely fresh with all previous settings lost.

I still haven't been able to reproduce this strange bug. I even have a Norwegian copy of Windows 7 installed and it all works perfectly for me. :( did you have any luck with clearing out the settings and re-installing DisplayFusion?

No change unfortunately.
I uninstalled the application and did a manual sweep of the registry.

Reinstalling just reintroduced the strange behaviour.

Would it be possible that you make a version of the control settings that has an additional button under the "about" button that will rotate the text manually?
Maybe do a readout of that behaviour?

But if I am the only one that experience this then you might focus your energy on other problems instead.
This is something I can live with.

I can try to reinstall my windows 7 Enterprise one day just to get rid of the bug.

BTW: My copy of Windows7 is an english one.

I have put together a small .exe file that only contains the vertical tab control. Can you try running the attached file and let me know if the text is still vertical for you? Thanks!

I have just released the first public beta, and it should take care of this issue. Can you please give it a try and let me know:

Excellent! :) The bug was caused by the TabControl tabs being drawn down the side instead of the top. Windows was trying to draw the tabs vertically, and I was overriding that. The strange thing is that as far as I can tell, the text should have been vertical for everyone, not just you. So now I render the text and tabs differently and I avoid that whole situation. And it appears to work.Thank you for all of your patience and testing! :)
