Hey all,
I use The Bat e-mail client and for the past half dozen DF betas it's been weird - the icon animation won't show on the main taskbar (but it does in the tray). Now with the release of 7.1.0 b1 the program won't show at all on my second monitor taskbar. Half an hour ago (7.1.0) it was fine.
Any ideas?

Hey Keith,
The text file is attached. Btw, the animation that I'm talking about is: When there is new mail in one of your mailboxes the bat icon flaps it's wings.

Hey Jon, thanks I'll have the scouts beating the bushes looking for it. Do you want an update afterwards?

Hey Jon,
The button still isn't showing on the 2nd monitor. On the 1st monitor it shows but doesn't animate.

Ok, could you attach a screenshot of The Bat's taskbar button on the Windows taskbar? DisplayFusion shouldn't be affecting the animation on the Windows taskbar (Primary monitor) at all. If you exit DisplayFusion, is it still broken?
I'm stumped as to why it wouldn't be showing up on your DF taskbar when you move it to the second monitor either, as it works ok on my test system here. Is it the main window that you're moving to the second monitor, or a child window (like a message window or something)?

Hey Keith,
This will get a little convoluted. I've attached copies of the troubleshooting info from 7.0 and 6.1
In 6.1 the icon is there and animated.
In 7.0 the icon is there but not animated
When I close DF the icon in the main Windows bar is not animated. But I've realised something.- I never run the program from the main window so I never see the icon over there - it may have been inanimate for years and I wouldn't have known. I always run it on my 2nd monitor - fully and completely. And until recently the icon flapped its little wings
I've included a dropbox jpeg showing the animation in 3 screenshots - I hope it works
OK, I really need to sleep

Ah, does it only animate when there are unread messages? I got it to animate with unread messages, when using both 6.1.2, 7.0, and 7.1 Beta 3. I had to enable it in The Bat Preferences > General tab though.
Do you have The Bat pinned to your Windows or DisplayFusion taskbar? (or both?)

Ok, I'm totally stumped here. It animates on both my Windows taskbar and DisplayFusion taskbar. Which version of The Bat are you running? I'm testing with 6.7.7.0 (Christmas Edition?).

Hey Keith,
So I upgraded to The Bat Home 6.7.7.0 It doesn't animate on the Windows side (animations are on in The Bat *and* in Windows) nor on the DF side in 7.1.0b3. It *does* animate on the DF side in 6.1. Basically it's exactly the same as the previous version of The Bat.
So I guess the questions are:
1) Why doesn't it animate on the Windows side even with all animation options turned on? (Discovering this might answer why it doesn't animate in newer versions of DF
2) Why do animations work in older version of DF but not newer?

I have the same problem, no animated icon in the task bar.
Also, after an update this morning the "The Bat" icon is on my main monitor while i have moved the bat to my second monitor.
Cannot get it back to where it belongs, on the second monitor
DisplayFusion Pro v7.1
Edit
After setting the properties of the taskbar buttons to "Combine when the taskbar is full" instead of "always combine, hide the labels", the animated icon is back.
Still on the wrong monitor ;-(

Thanks! When you get new mail, is the icon in the top left of The Bat window animated, even when the taskbar button on the DF taskbar is not? Also, if you set the DisplayFusion Taskbar Mode (Settings > Taskbar) to "All taskbars show all windows," does it work then? Just wondering if it's taskbar mode related.
As NietGiftig pointed out, it looks like The Bat icon isn't animated on the Windows taskbar when it's set to "Always combine."
Thanks!
