Sometimes when I hide a window behind another (reduce to icon or open a new window over it) I notice that the TitleBar buttons remain visible in the new active window for some time (it goes from a couple of seconds to ~7). If I go hover them with the mouse they often disappear immediately but it still is a bit annoying.

I actually noticed this behavior after installing v6.0 beta (I think it was beta 4 or 5) and I never got around to reporting it, I notice that 6.0.0 final which I'm currently running has the same issue. I didn't have this issue on 5.x.

My system is running on win 8.0 right now.

Strange! Does it only occur on some applications, or all? It sounds like the hook may not be working correctly. If you drag those applications around, do the titlebar buttons move with them, or do they lag behind a bit?

It happens really randomly, so I can't test anything specific. For example earlier today I was compressing a folder with WinRAR, I reduced the "compressing" window to icon and the 3 icons I have in the titlebar stayed there for a few seconds.

Dragging around the windows seems to work fine from what I can see but I'll try next time I see the issue.

Ok, sounds good! If you can send over a debug log too, that would be great. It might be that the window is "hung" and DisplayFusion is just waiting too long before removing the TitleBar Buttons, but the log should tell us for sure. Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "Logging: Important Only"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • The next time it occurs, note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log
