Hi there

This used to work fine before I got the latest update.

I have a trigger where I want Explorer to open up in a specific #Monitor maximized.

But now when I open up Explorer, seems the trigger isn't...triggering.

Bug?

Could you attach a screenshot of the Trigger rule?

Also, if you roll back to 9.3 does it start working again?

Screenshot attached and shown above.

I haven't tried 9.3c but it was working fine before the update.

The rule looks ok. If you open the DisplayFusion Monitor Configuration window, does it show the detected profile name in the top left, and does it match the one selected in the Trigger rule?

Attached is what's shown on the Monitor Configuration window.

When I click the "Load Profile" dropdown, there's only one profile there.

And yes, it's the same profile selected in the Trigger rule (see previous attachment)

Ok, can you remove the Monitor Profile condition from the Trigger rule? (just disable the checkbox for it in the rule and apply the settings) and then see if the Trigger works?

If so, it looks like you just need to re-save the Monitor Profile. If you click the same profile under the Save button it will prompt you to overwrite it.

That eventually worked. (but I do want it linked to a monitor profile)

What I mean is, I removed the profile and opened Explorer.

1st try: Initially, it maximized to fill the entire physical monitor.

2nd try: Closed and re-opened a new one and then it filled the physical monitor again and tried to fill the correct "virtual" monitor (sorry, dunno the correct term) but sorta bugged out and then went back to filling the entire physical monitor.

3rd and subsequent try: It worked.

That worked but it's definitely buggy.

On the first try the window will maximize to the full monitor but after that seems to work fine.

Also, is it possible to have it so that you don't see the transition? What I mean is, if the window initially opens up, say, on another monitor partially maximized and then the trigger kicks in to have it on another #monitor and fully maximized, that you don't see the transition from its initial state to what you set in the trigger.

Hope that makes sense.

Could you try adding a Wait action between the move and maximize actions? Try something like 100ms.

It's unfortunately not possible to make it move before the window is shown. We used to do that but it was incompatible with too many applications, sorry!

Happy new year!

Thanks but that doesn't work.

I tried a few different variations but every time the actions in the trigger are changed, it doesn't work on the next attempt at all.

So if I change any actions, re-open the window that the trigger applies to (in my case, Explorer) it just maximises to the full physical monitor, not the split #monitor I have in the Actions. Only from the 2nd attempt at launching another Explorer window does it work (albeit with the transition from not maximized to maximized still visible).

Are you testing the Trigger immediately after closing the settings window? The hooks take a bit to reload after applying the settings, so if you're opening File Explorer right after hitting apply, the window won't maximize to a split because the hooks aren't ready yet.

Similar issue for me - Im on Win10 and latest DisplayFusion. I have a laptop running into 2 monitors via a USB port replicator. They behave normal. The monitors are confired as follows in windows: (3 Left) (2 Right) (1 closed laptop).

When I use the "Move to next Window" button on Monitor 2 it moves to Monitor 3. But when I try to use the button to go to Next monitor again on 3, it doesnt do anything. I would expect it to cycle back through to Monitor 2.

This should be fixed up in 9.6.2 Beta 1, could you install it and let us know if you still run into this issue after updating?

Thanks!
