Hello all,

currently I'm running teams on my PC. But when I have meetings there are two instances of teams running with two windows both have the same process file name, Windows class, and different Windows text.

I also have two monitors, I exclusively run the main teams window on my smaller monitor, but when I have a teams meeting I would like that to be on my bigger monitor in a specific size and position. But both Windows use the same process file name and Windows class.

Is there a way to set up a Windows profile so that these windows can be sized and positioned the way I want them to be the key combination?

Thank you very much

Hi Travis,

If each window has a different Window Text, then you should be able to, yup. If you save a Window Position Profile with each window open, you can then go in and edit the entries. Could you send me over a screenshot of the edit window after you've saved the profile?

Thanks!

Thanks for answering Owen.

Because the Window Text changes for every meeting on one window and the text changes on the main window depending on where I'm at and what I'm doing they are always different.

Hi Travis,

Ah okay. Is there anything consistent in the Window Text when it changes? For example, does the word "Meeting" or "Prep" always appear in your video conference window?

The Window Text is a "Contains" match, so it doesn't have to match perfectly.

Thanks!

Unfortunately the only thing that is consistent is also consistent on both of them and that is "Microsoft Teams"

Any new window you may spawn has the name of what you are doing and who is involved. so for example for a chat window it would be:
Owen Muhlethaler|Microsoft Teams

But if I open a meeting it would be the meeting name|Microsoft Teams

Hi Travis,

Unfortunately I don't think there's anything we can do here. If the window text is constantly changing, and the window class is the same between all windows, we can't differentiate between them.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Let me offer a suggestion that *might* work. I've used it successfully with other applications so it's worth a shot.

Make a copy of the main executable and give it a different name. Copy MyProgram.exe to MyProgram2.exe. Leave it in the same directory and just create a new shortcut to the copy. Then instead of launching the same program twice, just launch the two "different" programs once each. This will give you two different executables you can then create rules for in DisplayFusion.

If this works, you'll have to remember to re-copy the program every time it gets updated.

Good luck!
