So my windows firewall is blocking the connection to my phone to allow me to use remote.
I am using an application called Windows Firewall Control https://www.binisoft.org/wfc.php that gives you prompts on connections trying to be made and you can then approve or deny them. But at its core what is running in under it is Windows 11 firewall.
Anyways selecting the "no filtering" profile for testing my phone sees me PC, but as soon as I put filtering back on its lost. I tried the no filtering profile and then tried connecting then enabling filtering again, but as soon as I did the phone once again lost connection.
Also tried to manually add it with no luck, so anyone have any ideas?
If you look at the inbound rules in Windows Firewall, do you have rules like the attached screenshot? I installed that Windows Firewall Control app, then enabled the DisplayFusion Remote feature. I got prompted to allow it in the Windows Firewall and accepted that prompt, and it's working fine for me.
I seem to have 2 Display fusion entries in windows firewall one is the TCP protocall one is UDP, otherwise they seem to be identical to each other and to your screen shot.
Do you have Medium or Low Filtering selected in the Windows Firewall Control app?
Med, its my "always" setting I go with. I think I may of figured it out... maybe I turned it to no filtering and searched all the DF connections in WFC after making an adjustment with the phone and then right click allowed them all.
It seems to be fixed at a glace, will see if any issues crop up in the next few days. Thanks for the help btw, going out of your way to download the app was quite above and beyond.
