I'm running Windows 11 and DisplayFusion 10.1.2. I've had an issue for quite some time (couldn't even tell you when it started) where universal apps (such as the New Microsoft Teams and the New Outlook) are showing up duplicated on my DisplayFusion taskbar when I pin the app to the taskbar. The pinned app will appear, but then when it opens a duplicate of the icon also shows up. I found some old discussions that I think seemed to indicate this had been fixed a while ago, but wondering if it's still a known issue and/or what the status of a fix is? Screenshots attached. Thanks!

I tested with Teams on my end and it seemed to work fine. Could you send me a screenshot of the "Edit" window from the pinned icon?

I've been experiencing this exact same issue with the New Teams and New Outlook. My observation is that each time those New metro apps are updated they get a new build number and new install path. So if I want to keep my pinned taskbar clean of duplicates I have to unpin the outdated item and pin the new one. Screenshot for reference showing the build number. I'm sorry I don't currently have another pinned one for comparison but I can tell you they are different when the app gets updated.

Sure, see attached. Just want to mention, make sure it's the "New Teams" and "New Outlook". They're built on a new framework compared to the "old" versions.

I've noticed this as well with one of my IDEs, which that I can understand. Usually unpinning the old one and pinning the new one resolves that issue. But I've tried that with the New Teams and New Outlook without luck.

Ah, we might have this fixed up in our next beta, so we'll let you know once it's released to try out.

Thanks!

We've got a test build of DisplayFusion 11 Beta 1 that we're not quite ready to release to everyone through the auto-updater, but thought you might like to try out as it may resolve the issue you reported. This beta has some very big behind the scenes changes that will improve performance, speed up startup times, re-organizes the main settings window, and adds real time settings changes. We've done a lot of internal testing, but be prepared for a few bugs. We'll collect feedback over the holidays and review it all in January.

Please take a backup of your settings (Settings Options Export) before updating and store them outside of the default folder. If you need to roll back to 10.1.2, you can download it at https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/ and install it over top of the beta.

If you'd like to give it a try, you can download it here: https://www.binaryfortress.com/Data/Download/?Package=displayfusion&v11-test=1

Awesome, thanks for the update! I just installed the beta and out of the gate it looks to have addressed the issue. I'll keep an eye on it for the rest of the week though. Thanks!

Thank you, I'm using DisplayFusion 11 Beta 1 now and it does appear to have resolved the issue for me as well.

Just wanted to give you a heads up this seems to have broken again in Beta 2. I installed beta 2 this morning because I randomly started having crashing issues the past day or two (it's been fine up until then, very stable so far) so I saw beta 2 was available and figured maybe it'll resolve these new issues.

Strange it seems to be working fine here, could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

Oddly today it seems to be working. Not sure what's going on. File is attached anyway.
