I have the latest version of both programs. Last displayfusion I was able to middle mouse click on the open bar and it was change monitor but now it wont work. I'm able to Ctrl + Win + X move it but not middle-click like I use to. This is really annoying. I hate clicking on the move to next monitor button or using Ctrl + Win+ X. Its so much easier with middle-click. Is there a way to change this or is this a known problem with this version?

Middle-click seems to be working ok for me in Chrome. Could you please do the following to help us troubleshoot the issue on your machine?
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Important Only) and click Apply
  • Try middle-clicking the Chrome title bar a bunch of times (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
  • Send me the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
Thanks!

Thanks Alex, the log doesn't seem to show Chrome getting middle-clicked at all. So, a few new questions for you:
  • If you drag the Chrome window around, do the TitleBar Buttons stay with it, or do they lag behind before catching up with the window?
  • Are you able to middle-click the title bar of other applications to move them?
  • Could you try rolling back to 4.1 to see if it starts working again? http://www.binaryfortress.com/Files/DisplayFusionSetup-4.1.exe
Thanks!

The TitleBar Buttons lag behind it looks like. I'm able to middle-click all other programs just not chrome. I just got the new update and it still wont let me middle-click google chrome. When I rolled back to 4.1 everything works fine. I'm able to middle-click google chrome and everything else.

Ok, it sounds like Chrome isn't getting hooked on your machine with 4.2, if the TitleBar Buttons are also lagging behind. Would you be able to do the following to help troubleshoot further?
  • Close all Chrome windows
  • Update to 4.3 Beta 1: http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Detailed) and click Apply
  • Open Chrome (the log will hopefully show why the hooks are failing)
  • Try the middle-click a few times
  • Send me the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
Thanks!

According to the log, Chrome is definitely not getting hooked, but there's nothing to indicate why :(

Could you let me know which version of Chrome you're using, and also list any extensions or custom themes you have installed in Chrome?

Thanks!

If you could also attach a copy of the info in the DisplayFusion > Troubleshooting tab (copy it to a text file), that would be great.

Thanks!

Ok, thanks! I'm looking for the Troubleshooting Info as well. It's the text that's shown directly on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab. Could you copy that to a text file and attach it?

Thanks!

Thanks Alex. Everything looks to be ok, but I noticed that you have added a Compatibility rule for Chrome. It shouldn't make a difference, as the rule has both the Middle-Click Move and Application Hooks enabled, but could you try removing that rule anyway to see if it helps?

Thanks!

Just for reference, same exact issue with the latest Firefox 16.0.2. It's as if the program does not even see the middle click. All other apps works. I have tested both on XP and Windows 8. On XP with the button enabled, it does not lag behind. On Windows 8 the button sometimes lags behind.

@CB5: Your issue may be different, as Firefox is treated differently by DisplayFusion. Could you try middle-clicking the caption buttons (minimize, maximize, close) on the top right of the Firefox window?

Thanks!

That worked (on XP)! Not sure why the title bar suddenly stopped functioning. I'll have to try on Windows 8 when I get to the machine. Thanks!

@Alex: I'm really stumped on this one. Could you update to DisplayFusion 4.3 final, then send me a backup of your settings? Use the Backup Settings button on the Options tab, and then just attach it here.

Thanks!

I just went back to 4.1. I did download 4.3 and it still wouldn't work.

Thanks! I've restored your backup to a test machine, and middle-click moving still works with Chrome for me, so there's definitely no issue in the settings. If you middle-click the caption buttons on the Chrome window (minimize, maximize, or close), it should also move the window. Could you try that to see if that's working at least?

Thanks!
