I know this has been discussed already, but I have to express my extreme disappointment in this product. The Video Wallpaper feature was the primary function I needed. Without this, it was money down the drain. There are enough posts about VW not working, that I have no doubt it was never anything except vapor-ware. Binary Fortress needs to remove any references to supporting VW immediately and keep it down until they fix the problem (which they probably have no interest in doing). It is a shame when a quality, reasonably priced software such as this can not do as good of a job as free open-source solutions, even though they typically require some tech skills. Read the forums and you will see there are still numerous error reports & problems with new Windows 10 builds, all of which are answered by (paraphrase) "Yes, we know and are actively working to determine the problem" which translates into English as "We know, we don't care, our programming skills are out-of-date and can no longer keep up with new OS releases, and last but not least, please keep sending us money." This cruddy software doesn't even display an error about the VW not working, it just shows a black screen and apparently thinks it's working fine. I transcoded a 1 minute video using 12 codecs, each in 4 resolutions, and (almost) none will play. The one that did play ran for 5 seconds, rebooted my computer and never worked again. I mean come on, the software doesn't even act like it's doing anything with VW like the buttons are there but there is no underlying code - it's just for appearance.
For those interested, "Video Wallpaper" and "Video Screensaver" on XDAForums, DualMonitorTools by GNE, WindowManager by DeskSoft, and "Icon Layout Saver" will do 95% of what DisplayFusion does and costs exactly zero dollars. And while DisplayFusion hasn't had a useful upgrade in eons, these other softwares continue to regurally publish updates to maintain compatibility with new OS versions and fix bugs/add features. Add Synergy and SpaceDesk and you are well beyond what DisplayFusion will ever be able to provide. Believe it or not there are some software developers out there that do care what their users are saying and respond best they can to their wishes. Then there are other devolopers out there (AHEM) that do not care about their users and will publish any junky software they can hoping at least a few naive users will purchase their software to do something you already can for free.
If anyone out there knows a reliable way to make it work, please let us know. I am not the only one complaining that the VW does not function. And in reading, it is completely hit or miss for the 2 users it does work for and they are probably still running Windows XP.

Have you reached out for help on the video wallpaper previously? If so, could you send me the link to the Discussions topic, or the email case #? I'd like to look into what we've already tried, and help you sort out the video wallpaper issues.
Thanks!

What? The instructions are simple. I am sure I implemented it correctly. It just does not work. Anyhow, I have already wasted enough time on this. I found 2 other open source programs combined to fill my needs. DisplayFusion is uninstalled never to be thought of again.
Ok, if you do want to try to troubleshoot it again in the future, please let me know.

Maybe. Arriving at work I discussed this with a friend. We tried it on his laptop (single screen) and it played every video we threw at it. I then hooked up a 2nd monitor HDMI and now with 1 or 2 monitors, no more video wallpaper. I even uninstalled it, searched and deleted any registry keys, appdata, etc, rebooted, reinstalled, and guess what - a very nicely rendered perfectly black screen appears. When it was working you could notice a delay as it buffered the video, now absolutely nothing happens. We watched the open file handles and DisplayFusion will not even touch any of the videos and we tried several folders, all with "everyone" having full permissions.

OK one last note. My friend did a system restore on his laptop from 3 days ago, put DisplayFusion back on and it still will not attempt to run any VW.
Ok, strange! What's the "Background Mode" set to in the DisplayFusion Wallpaper window?

I refuse to switch to Win 8.1+ to allow this to function, it breaks some apps (Apache/Adobe/MS Office/Gimp/etc) and abuses my system resources like a redheaded stepchild.
My idea was to take an MP$/MWK (container I don't care) or an SVG of our solar system rotating.
Any thoughts? Sorry, the OP was a year back.

Hi Jonathan,
Which version of windows are you currently running? I just tried out the video you linked, and it seems to be working fine on my system.
Thanks!

Win7 Ultimate x64 (MSDN) if that helps.
Hi Jonathan,
Looks like I was able to get it loaded up in Windows 7. Have you taken a look at this guide here? https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/my-videos-wallpaper-source-faq/?ID=0b20533d-7081-440d-9214-31c5e8de190a
Thanks!
Hi Jonathan,
Nope, that looks good! That's just the date you purchased the license. Did you download the light weight codec pack found in that guide as well?
Thanks!
Hi Jonathan,
That's very odd! If you ever want to continue troubleshooting in the future, just let us know and we would be happy to help.
Thanks for the kind words!
