been doin a little lookin around and tryin other programs with DF and this nice light weight program called mdesktop -
http://code.google.com/p/mdesktop/
works GREAT with DF was hopping you or your team could get with Jason Stallings i think he is the maker of it,
but the program is in open source still so you may just be able to incorporate it, or whatever it is that will need to take place.
BUT if you guys already have something in mind and are just waiting for the refined version then disregard this
again thanks for all your compassion and tremendous work put in the construction of DF
Interesting! We'll certainly check it out. Thanks Keith!

Your most welcome Keith, let me know I'm just a little bit stoked for the Virtual Desktops.
All those Linux and Mac users keep making me jealous around the work place with all their virtual desktops.
Will do, have a great weekend!

just FYI I also use mDesktop and it's outstanding! I used it along with displayfusion for about 6 months. Unfortunately I recently got a laptop at work and when I use my laptop dock it breaks the functionality of displayfusion's multimonitor tasksbar. Basically the multimonitor taskbar only works on virtual desktop 1 instead of all virtual desktops. This had worked fine before I had a laptop + dock.
There is a feature you can leverage in mDesktop to keep certain windows with a specific 'window name' across all screens. However, I could never properly configure DF's multimonitor taskbar to do this as I don't believe the secondary taskbar has a name. (The only way I could get it to replicate across all screens was to use a single wildcard character).
Hope this helps!
Good to know Chris, thanks for the extra info!

Just checking in to say that the real noticeable issues with the mdesktop the the multi-monitor taskbar does not keep it color all the time and the fading of the backgrounds isn't always very smooth there will be a small lag or the pic will just jump to the next image, and of course the multi-taskbar doesn't carry over to the virtual desktops.
that is all, please let me know if you guys can do anything with this the suspense is killing me!

Sweet, and no thats my bad hadn't done a lot of testing at that time, been kinda busy with a printer deployment going on at work but i will give the dexpot a shot
on another note i don't think its DF causing the issue but my gaming rig at home keeps kicking the monitors on after they have gone through the screen saver and monitor power saver mode. Its totally random as to when it happens, my work compy and laptop are unaffected, so i doubt that its DF. IF you have any ideas cool, if not no worries.
Thanks

I would like to add my request for virtual desktops integration.
I would like this feature but i know only ONE software with it :
http://www.actualtools.com/virtualdesktops/
Independent - this mode allows you treating each monitor as a separate workspace with its own set of "screen pages". In other words, when you switch the desktop on certain monitor - it affects windows only on that particular monitor; on other monitors, windows stay intact.
In this mode each monitor has its own Virtual Desktop Switcher.
Interesting! I've added your vote to the feature request. Thanks!

Keith... Are you going to build a solution for Virtual Desktops in the near future?
Even if you don't have this planned for the near future, is there any chance you could provide some "help" about how to configure DisplayFusion to recognize mDesktop's virtual desktops as a monitor? Per the previous discussions, I thought there was a way to do this, but if so, I haven't been able to find it.
Thanks!
I've just done a quick test of mDesktop with DisplayFusion 5.1.1, and everything seems to work correctly. Are you running into issues with it? I just did the default install of mDesktop and DisplayFusion.

I would also be very interested in virtual desktops.

Glad to see that you're at least looking at adding virtual desktops to display fusion. Found this thread searching for VD programs that work well with DF, but would much rather have it integrated.

Just wanted to add a vote for this feature. I'd be willing to purchase a new version of DF to get this.
not saying its going to happen, but the rumor is that win 9 is going to have them built in.

"Virtual desktop" will be a HUGE boost to displayfusion.
I guess the purchases will be raised by 1 times more. (seriously)

I just want to chime in that the taskbar extending to multiple monitors does not work in mDesktop except for in the very first virtual desktop.
It's kind o a bummer. For me to have a virtualdesktop, i have to lose my taskbars on most of them.
