I have my wallpaper set to update every 10 minutes, but it never changes. If I open up the wallpaper settings and just hit okay, it will change it right then. But I can wait all day long with no change.

I currently have only 1 of my 3 monitors set to change. The other 2 should be static. I'm currently using photos from Instagram for the change; but I have previously tried other sources with the same problem.

DisplayFusion is definitely running (I can see it in the system tray). Rebooting doesn't fix it. Currently using version 7.1.

Any ideas what could be going wrong?

A debug log should tell us why DisplayFusion is skipping the wallpaper update. Could you send one over? Here are the steps:
  • Set the wallpaper change interval to 1 minute (for testing purposes)
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Wait 5-10 minutes
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Thanks! The debug log shows that your machine is failing to resolve the hostname for the Instagram CDN. Not sure why that would be, as it works fine from my machine. If you try a different wallpaper source, like Vladstudio or WallpaperFusion, does it work?

That is strange, because if I manually open and close the wallpaper settings, it will download a new wallpaper. I am behind a proxy. Is it possible proxy settings are used in one case and not another?

I think it is something along those lines. I switched my network over so I was not on a proxy-ed network, and it works. So how do I get it to work right when behind a proxy?

Interesting! On the DisplayFusion Settings > Options tab, can you click the "Internet Connection Settings" button and let me know what it's set to?

It is set to "Use Internet Explorer Connection Settings".

I changed it to use custom proxy settings and entered my proxy info, and now it works. Hooray! So it appears I have a work around. I still think it's interesting that DisplayFusion can figure out how to use the proxy with the original settings in some situations but not others.

Thanks for the help!

Ok, thanks! Sounds like there might be a bug in the background wallpaper changing code with regards to the proxy settings then. I'll test this out here and if I can reproduce it, we'll get it fixed up!
