v9.3

I have 3 monitor profiles for my laptop:
Work (3 monitors with a WallpaperFusion wallpaper selected)
Home (2 monitors)
Home (1 monitor)

Both Home profiles use a local image for the wallpaper.

If I bring the laptop from work and switch it to the Home (2 monitors) profile, the wallpaper loads fine. If I switch to the Home (1 monitor) profile, the wallpaper is set to the default (no image, just background color). When this monitor profile is loaded, both of the wallpaper profiles appear to be reset to the default settings.

If I then switch to the Home (2 monitors) profile, wallpaper profiles are back to their normal settings. Switch back to Home (1 monitor) and wallpaper settings are all back to default.

I can manually set the wallpaper while in the Home (1 monitor) profile, but it won't stick when switching back and forth to the other monitor profile.

Not a big issue, just odd.

Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

If you can also attach a backup of your settings (Settings > Options > Export) that would be great.

Thanks!

Thanks! I'm running out of time to work on this today, but it's on my list for Monday :)

No worries. I am stuck working all weekend, so I have no need to switch to my Home profile anyway. haha

Ok, so in this backup, I'm seeing two profiles:
  • Work
  • Home (and this one seems to be setup to span the wallpaper across all monitors)

There's also a "Default Profile" that's completely empty.

Did you have more than one Home profile setup before you exported the settings?

Just the one Home wallpaper profile. It is basically the same as the Work profile, they just use different images.

I removed the Default wallpaper profile and will test it out a bit this week, going back and forth to work. I think the Default profile was overwriting the settings in the Home profile.

OK, here's the latest...

I had both Home and Work wallpapers populated as described above. Laptop monitor profile was set to Home. I went to workstarted up the laptop, and then set the monitor profile to Work. No problems, the wallpaper changed as expected. I had it in this configuration for a few days, then brought the laptop home. Started it up, the Work profile (and wallpaper was still loaded), switched it to the Home monitor profile and the wallpaper is just a background color of black.

I check the wallpaper profiles and both are reset. Home (the one currently selected) is set to Source: My Images, with nothing selected. If I switch to the Work profile, it is set to Source: Solid Color.

Before I changed anything I copied my settings and troubleshooting info.

Thanks.

Update:

So after documenting the above, I simply set the proper wallpaper for the Home profile only and used the computer with the Home monitor profile as well. I didn't touch the now empty Work wallpaper profile.

I shut down completely and took the laptop to work. Upon booting up, the Home wallpaper was still in effect. I chose the Work monitor profile, and everything switched correctly. Including the Work wallpaper profile which was no longer blank and contained the correct wallpaper. Hmm...

I shut down completely and took the laptop Home. While booting up, the Work wallpaper was visible until DisplayFusion loaded, then the wallpaper just turned to a solid black. Once again both wallpaper profiles were empty as described in the previous post.

Hopefully, that info helps.

This issue should be fixed up in the latest beta, available here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate the update. I will try to test it out, but my company started forcing the corporate wallpaper onto the laptop in question through policy. Ugh.

Ah nuts! Ok, no worries if you can't test it. It seems to be fixed here when we test :)

Well, hopefully our overly aggressive admins get enough complaints about locking out this feature, because our corporate wallpaper is pretty ugly (gray/green flat color with a large white logo and lime green lettering stating that you are on an "UNCLASSIFIED NETWORK").
