Hi!!

Is it possible to set a wallpaper slideshow, with a list of images, for 2 monitors in a way that images are not random, but go one by one trough the list? I have set the “Show in alphabetical order” checkbox but it still randomize the images

Thanks!

If you enable the "Wallpaper: Don't Store Image History" option in the DisplayFusion Settings > Advanced Settings window, then apply and restart DisplayFusion, does that make any difference at all?

Hi!! Sorry for the delay on the reply.
I tried wht you suggested but it didn't work.

I found that if you have a folder with several images and you use it for both monitors, the first time it loads the same image, but when you use the option to load the next image, it randomize both monitors and you never will get the same image in both again

Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached

Thanks! Is the same folder selected for both monitors? And does it have a bunch of sub-folders with images in each?

Hi!!

No, is NOT the same folder. The monitors have different resolutions so i created a folder for each resolution. The images have the same name and there is not subfolders.

Ok, I see! I'm not able to reproduce this issue here. I put the same images into two separate folders, and set each folder on a monitor. Then enabled the alphabetical order option for both monitors, and they're both changing in lock-step with each other.

Would you be able to test with the attached images?

At first it works. The problem is when you try to move to the next image by right clicking on the desktop and the going to DisplayFusion->Load next walpaper slideshow Image

For some reason when you do that it randomize the images and you cannot get the same image never again. Even deselecting and reselecting the Show in alphabetical order checkbox

I'm stumped! Even manually advancing the images doesn't cause this issue for me, see the attached video.

I'll keep digging here and see what I can find out.

Its weird!! could it be the version? I'm currently running Steam version 9.7 Beta 10.

Which is odd is that when you change the image like you did in the video you get a message saying that is "Finding Random Image".

Are you a developer of the app? Could it be that originally this was a feature to randomize images and later on you changed it and some old code is there or not has been tested? I don't know just saying

Yeah, that text is a bit inaccurate. It should actually say "Loading next image" or something like that. I will add that to our list to fix up :)

As for the version, I'm testing with 9.7 Beta 10 as well. Could you try this?

  • Exit DisplayFusion
  • Delete everything in the
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\DisplayFusion
    folder
  • Launch DisplayFusion and test the wallpaper changes again
