WhatsApp for Windows consistently refuses to have a single taskbar button on the screen that it's on, it always has one there, and one on my primary taskbar as well.

I've not noticed this issue with any other program.

Machine: Dell XPS 9720
WhatsApp: version 2.2301.2.0
OS: Windows 11 Home 22H2 build 22621.1105
DisplayFusion: version 10.0 (Beta 19). I had the same issue on 9.9, I hoped moving to 10 would fix it.

Other notable info:

1) I'm using StartAllBack

2) I use DisplayFusion taskbars on the external screens, and Windows/StartAllBack's one on my primary screen

Has anyone else come across this issue? In theory I can disable StartAllBack if I log out (to see if the issue lies there) but I have too much going on at the moment to want to have to close everything down.

Please see the third point in this post: https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/windows-10-known-issues/?ID=e71e1f5e-9e07-4f7d-b179-22253db2c30f. It's mentioned for Windows 10, but applies to Windows 11 as well.

Thanks!

Thanks! I did notice that the new WhatsApp app is "funky", and unlike the version I had on my Windows 10 laptop previous to this new machine. I'll try to see if I can get the old version (and if WhatsApp will allow me to use it without forcing an upgrade to this "Universal" app).

I found an easy fix!

Uninstall DisplayFusion :o I used to love it, but Windows is so much better at this stuff than it was when I started using DisplayFusion 10+ years ago. Maybe something will bring me back one day, but I'm content with one less bit of software running. The best code, as they say, is no code.
