Where are the personal settings kept? I would like to move settings for desktop icon and other general Display Fusion to a clean install of Win 10 that I had to do from Win 7 that are on the same computer.

They're stored in the registry, but you can export them using the "Export" button on the DisplayFusion Settings > Options tab.

A couple of things to note about the Desktop Icon Profiles:

  • They only save icon locations, and not the icons themselves.
  • Their positions are relative to the top-left corner of the primary monitor, so if your monitor configuration is different, the profiles won't be useful.

Hope that helps!

Hi Keith,

If we forgot to export the settings before resetting Windows 10, did we lose our settings, triggers, etc. forever?

Thanks!

Do you have a backup of the old data? DisplayFusion does auto-backup the settings during version upgrades, so you might be able to find on in the Documents\DisplayFusion Backups folder.
