I use Notepad++ a lot and when the application is on the primary monitor, the regular green Notepad++ icon shows up in the taskbar. When I move it to the secondary monitor, the taskbar icon moves with it, but changes to the default blue Windows Notepad icon. This was horribly confusing :) I don't think I've seen it on any other applications so I don't know if the issue is with Notepad++ or DisplayFusion, so I'm just going to toss it out here and see what people think about it.

That's weird! I can't reproduce that same behaviour here. Would you be able to send over a debug log?
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Hello
Any solutions to that issue? I have the same problem with an application where I set a custom icon. Now when the window is on the primary screen the task bar it shows the custom icon, but when I move the window in the secondary screen the secondary task bar show the old icon (actually the default application icon).

Thank you

PS I use Windows 7

Can you tell me what method you've used to set the custom icon? Did you just set it on the Pinned button on the Windows taskbar?

OK, if you pin the application to the DF taskbar (right-click its button on the DF taskbar and choose "Pin this program"), does that make it use the custom icon?

LOL .. if I pin it to DF taskbar appear a third icon...
Now I see the application exe file have one icon and in the same folder there is a appicon ico file.. This is a tax application ( a new one for every year) so I need when Is minimized to see the year not the logo and that why I create some custom icons with years.
Now, when the application is on the main screen it shows me the custom, if I move it to second screen it show me the ico file and if I pin it it shows me the exe icon....
It's ok I will try to use all of them in the main screen

Thank you for support

Sorry for the delayed response on this! I can reproduce it with Notepad++, and I'd like to test it out with the tax app too. Is it CCH Tax Prep?

I've been noticing this behavior recently with Windows Calculator too - if calculator is on the primary monitor, it's fine; if it's on the secondary monitor, the icon stays on the primary monitor, and the secondary monitor gets a blank icon - there's the little underline on the bottom edge of the taskbar where the icon would be, but the actual icon is blank. the hover preview and right/left click actions work fine. I'm incapable of doing math in my head, so I use the calculator a lot :-)

@EEP: That's actually a separate issue, related to Windows 10 "Universal apps" being weird. We've got that on our list to fix up as well :)
