I'm using Windows XP, DisplayFusion 3.2.0 Pro, and Winamp 2.91 (last of the official 2.x versions! :))

If I move Winamp to another monitor it doesn't show up on the DF taskbar and stays on the main taskbar. Occasionally when I focus on the Winamp window it will show up on the correct taskbar, but then when I click to another application it will jump to the main XP taskbar.

I found this thread http://www.binaryfortress.com/Forum/index.php?topic=1470.0 that pertains to Winamp 5.57 and Windows 7 and DF 3.1.6, but perhaps some of these changes are related? It looks like some changes were made to make 5.57 work in DF 3.1.6.9.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but Winamp is a real thorn in my side when it comes to Taskbar support. It is coded in such a non-standard way that it is nearly impossible to detect what it's doing and where it is. Every skin needs special support, and they make changes in every version that break my detection code. As a result I can really only support the latest version, as supporting all versions would consume all of my time and sanity. :) Can I ask why you don't update to version 5 and just use the classic skin?

2.9x versions are preferred by many of the Winamp purists. I've been using it for years, plugins are all configured properly, it uses less memory, etc etc. They don't make any new 2.x versions so it wouldn't present any ongoing work! Also 2.9x only supports the old static bitmap type of skins (I am using the default skin).

Newest isn't always best when it comes to software ;)

I'll give it some thought. If it's just static window types, and the version is easy to detect I'll add support for it. :)

Good news, Winamp 2.x support is included in the soon-to-be-released Beta 3. :)

Hey,

here is what happens to me.
I got the latest beta of DF (but it also happened in previous versions) and winamp 5.581 (also latest) ...
when I minimize winamp the taskbar"icon" moves to my 2nd screen, when I click on it, it reappears on the 1st screen, where it should be.
Anythink I can do or is this a bug?

Sorry, this was a bug introduced in Beta 6 that affected many different applications, including Winamp. This has been fixed and you can now download the new Beta 7:
